Hello all.

I recently picked up a 2020 GT 5.0 A10. I've been reading here like crazy since.

My first mods are going to be long tubes/exhaust and an e85 tune by my friend's shop. I have a few questions that I could use some suggestions and recommendations with.

Long Tubes - Texas Speed Performance without cats
H-pipe - ?
Resonator - ?
Exhaust - Solo Performance Mach XVIII

Am I missing anything? Back in my '04 Cobra Mustang, I ran no cats and an MIL Eliminator. Is that needed with these engines, or is it tuned out?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

If you're have a shop install your headers, you may as well have them fab up an h-pipe for you while they're at it. Biggest things would be to make sure they're using good steel that will resist rust and to weld in a horizontal support between the two pipes, which can be seen in h-pipes provided by Steeda, ect.

Not sure what your goals are for your car, but a lot of folks here recommend sorting out the rear suspension with one of many products offered for that application. Lot of info on those setups on the forums here.

Thanks!

My goals are exhaust, tune, and tire for now, and then when this project at work is over in June, have him throw a Whipple on it.

As far as ordering exhaust goes, and piecing it together, it's headers, h-pipe, exhaust right? No cats, resonators, mid-pipes needed?

Catted or not depends on your preference. You can buy exhaust systems with or without. Here is an example from American Racing Headers:

https://americanracingheaders.com/c...ducts/mustang-5-0l-coyote-2015-up-long-system

The h-pipe, or an x-pipe setup, removes the factory resonator "suitcase". This may be the mid pipe you're referring to?

From the h/x-pipe, yeah, choose the rest based on the sound you want, though with headers and an h-pipe, it'll be plenty loud already.

Note, if you look at the link above, the cats are directly after the end of the headers (I think?), so if you purchase a "cat-back" setup, you may not need the h-pipe.

Thanks, you've been a tremendous help. I was fairly certain on everything already, but wanted to clarify some things first. So much appreciated!

Helpful information...
Also, with my GM 6.2, I had to use angled spark plug wires and fire sleeves with long tubes to have proper clearance.

Is that an issue with these engines and long tubes?

You are going to have a check engine light on if you don’t tune it out or use foulers. Tuning company’s normally will not help you with this. You have to do it on your own

I have a buddy who will do it. One of the leading Coyote builders going. Out of respect for his business though, I don't pester him with questions. Lol

you can do a resonator delete with any header, but ii'd lean toward a full catback.

we have a special going for the 18 and up guys with a set of kooks headers and an h pipe catback at 1/2 price, have 2 left in stock

:)

Hey Justin, congrats on the new ride man! First for the headers because you mentioned you're gonna be running E. I have heard over time running TSP that the O2's will get burned out , from the way that the extensions hang. You have to position them a certain way to avoid it. For the H pipe, I personally am a fan of a Corsa exclusive to us here at Lethal, the HH pipe. Give these cars a nice, deep tone that they need! That would be considered, a res delete. For the axle back, did your car come equipped with Active? If so, I personally like the job they did from factory! If not, can't go wrong with pairing Corsa with Corsa! But, still plenty options out there. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any additional questions! Will be more than happy to assist.

Good choice on the Texas Speed Headers they are a hot ticket item here at www.lethalperformance.com. I recommend our Corsa Double H pipe for a resonator delete to pair with the headers. These parts will really wake your car up! Corsa Performance 3" Stainless Double HH-Pipe (2015-2020 5.0L Mustang GT) - 14502 Please give @JakeLethal or myself a shout and we can get you taken care of!

The Borla switchfire is my list.
