Had a rental today, got out early hoping to take advantage of the good air. DA climbed FAST and it was up to 0' by the time they started prepping the track and climbed fast from there.
First pass, loaded the wrong tune. Smooth. 12.20 @ 118. MPH was strong, I knew it was shifting short though.
Went back, loaded the new tune, let it cool for a bit and clicked off an 11.95 @ 119.2 with a 1.90 60'. That was my best 60' to date. But, I also learned what to do to make it better on that pass.
Let it cool for 30 min, pulled up and did it again. This time I foot braked it to 2000 rpm, then started rolling into the throttle before I let off the brake.
1.83 60', Bam. Felt great going down, 11.78 @ 119.52. DA showed as 875' but it wasn't updating, it had to be closer to 1000'.

I was happy and parked it. I'm confident I can get this thing down to the 11.60s or so with some good air. Maybe a .59 or so with some really good DA.

This is on 93, no E85 available to me. That would change the game.
For anyone on the fence about not tuning their A10 because the dyno gains aren't 'huge', well that's only part of the story. My 3.55 geared PP1 seems to love shifting at 7400-7500 in otherwise stock trim.

Where are you from that E85 isn’t available? OSW is an hour from me and there is E85 all over Orlando.

Where are you from that E85 isn’t available? OSW is an hour from me and there is E85 all over Orlando.
I’m in Sanford. 35+ minutes to either Daytona or Orlando if I want E. With a tiny tank and terrible mileage I’d just be going to and from the E85 station every day. Really sucks honestly. Wish it was more prevalent.

"up to 0'". Ha, I'm happy when I see the DA here drop below 2000' in the fall. The only problem with that is it's usually pretty cold, so I can't get grip with summer tires. 2,700' elevation where I live.

During the summer I'm happy with anything less than 4000'.

I’ve been spoiled by having multiple rentals through work. I don’t hit too many TnT nights as a result but probably should get out more, especially this time of year.

Not as bad as a guy who wants to put a F150 cams & F150 intake on a Mustang.

He is talking about a track rental, extremely common term among folks who drag race. As in my shop is sponsoring a "rental" and I am going to pay for a slot to get some runs in.

Back in the day many people rented GT350's and swapped engines with a run of the mill 289.

I imagine that still happens with the rental sports cars.

Really, I'll bet many rental GT350's have 5.0 engines.
