Quick question after reading this, im am looking to shoot for 900-925whp when i build my car. Was set on a whipple but after seeing this thread and the awesome results id definitely like to consider a procharger. Would the d1x be good? Or is that overkill for 900whp?
If 900 truly is your goal the P1X is the way to go.

D1x would be an excellent choice for 900whp! You will have a bit of head room to grow some as well. How fast could I go on a D1x??? Hmmm....

Goal might be 900 now, then 1000 a month later. You know how it goes LOL
Exactly ! I plan in picking a car up next month, shoot for 900whp and mid-low 9’s this spring and enjoy it, then next winter build the motor so id like to have a bit of room to grow and dont wanna max the blower out on the initial setup.

If that's the case skip the d1x even and go straight to the F1A-94. The problem is turning down the bigger blowers enough in the interim.

I think the d1x may be fine for me honestly. I wanna be able to swap pullies and be able to run 93 also. 95% of the time itll be full send mode on e85 but i wanna have the option to turn it down on 93 also for long weekend trips and only be around 750whp

If 900 is your goal then go with the D1x. Turned up mine made 1050 to the wheel. The p1x is great but starts to run out around 900. It’s better to have some room to grow!

I agree id rather have some room to grow with the ability to also pulley down for 93 and lower power for weekend trips.

a friend of mine was telling me about prochargers snapping cranks ? Briefly read through one thread but cant find much info. Is this true?

I think if it’s tensioned properly there is no issue. If it’s a major concern you can go with the stage one kit that has a shared drive belt like all of the other companies.

Anything is possible. I have seen turbo cars break crank snouts, whipple etc.

2 things that seem to help reduce the chance on a procharger, don't do a ATI balancer and proper tension, and last a good install.

If you go back and re-read that thread it's mostly ATI balancer cars.

Just so you know
