I had the Mickey Thompson Street Comps. Mickey gave up too much grip on their quest for a tire that could handle rain. They would spin way too easy through 3rd gear. They look look good though lol

What did you have on the rears before the change? I'm very interested to hear about traction difference. I will soon go from MPS4S to the NT555RIIs

Yeah the Demon was purpose built for the dragstrip. For someone on the street, drag radials on the front, probably not a good idea. As for the poster you replied to wanting to rotate them, he might want to research how many miles they are expected to last. That 100 thread wear should be a hint.

I believe the dodge demon came from the factory with drag radials stock on all 4 corners.

I have heard a lot of good things about Nitto tires from my friends, but I haven't tried to run a set of my vehicle. Right now, I am using Continental ExtremeContact and I am not planning to replace it soon.

If I were running the Conti or the Michelin 4S, I would not change out tires for the heck of it.

I have Nitto Invos on the front with NT555RII on the rear.

Looks like you switched to 17" ET Street R's. The 555R2's didn't work out for you? What size were they? 305/35/19's?

555R2 is an awesome tire for the street. Any car with over 600 RWHP should run them. They outlast all other drag radials and are better in the rain also.

Yes, 305's. I switched because at 10# of boost on E85 they were spinning in every gear. They were good on 93. Good on the strip at 12# except the 1-2 shift spun bad. Now running 15# on the 29.5" tall street R's with no traction issues. Bumping up to 17# next.

I found they were great on E85 tune only, and good on 93 @ 10#. Once I added boost & loaded the New E85 tune (10#) traction was gone, even on concrete.

soo how is the life expectancy on these that you guys have found so far? also what pressure you running on the street?

with stock p zero had to drop to 28psi cold for even tread wear and decent traction, same with firehawks. with these im at 28psi cold but thinking of dropping lower, blowing them off at the top of 2nd on a roush tvs at 8 or 9 psi on 60 degree days. 285/35r19 on 10inch rim. this goes against the load/psi charts though. should be 5 psi over stock tire psi on these.

more worried about overall even wear, and not eating up the centers. if they can make it to end of the year for state inspection which requires 2/32 tread remaining, ill buy another set.

I'm finding it really depends on how you drive. If you spin them, start subtracting mileage. I've been told that many get about 7K out of them. I was hooking really well until about 3K miles, after that, it is a spin city in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I took them off for the winter (in GA lol). I will put them back on in a few weeks and see if I can get another 3K out of them. If you are looking for the best off-the-line traction, air them down but you can't have the cake and eat it also, as you will most likely find that airing them down lessens the total mileage you will get out of them. I've found that having two sets of wheels and tires works the best for me.

They are just collecting dust in my garage. Not enough traction.

These tires are a good option for a naturally aspirated Mustang for street or occasional drag strip use. Based on my experience, 5-6000 miles is about all you can expect. Add a blower and they are useless at the drag strip. Mickey Thompson ET street R is the way to go for serious drag strip work. I liked the Nittos on the street because they balanced up nicely and were quiet. They also stick better than any street tire I have ever used. Rarely on the street would I do a hard launch so they were fine. Again, for serious strip use, they are not the hot ticket.....especially for supercharges applications.
