Hello fellow GT350 owners! It's taken me a while to finally sign up after buying and taking delivery of my 2020 GT350 Heritage Edition earlier this year. I test drove a GT350 around Thanksgiving last year, loved it, so I decided to take the plunge and my buy first-ever new car. I live in California and none of the local dealers were willing to sell their few remaining GT350s for sticker, so I bought my car sight unseen in Texas.
Late January my friend and I flew to Houston to pick up the car and drive it back to Cali. We got incredibly lucky with our timing as the weather was mild (sunny 50s to 60s) the entire way. We had scoped out the southern most route possible, heading west on I-10. We even literally hugged the border with Mexico for a few hours on a detour through Terlingua and the area surrounding Big Bend Nat'l Park. This was a pretty neat adventure and great way to break the car in haha. It has ~3,000 miles on it now, about 2,000 of which were put on during this trip.
Below are a few pictures from our drive and my friend also put together a great write up. And yes, that is blue painter's tape (2 rolls at Walmart for $10!).
Overall the car's been nothing short of amazing. Though there are a couple small things that do bother me, including the rear edge of the headliner that looks kind of rough to me. See the pictures below. I understand and appreciate that the appeal of this car is in its engineering and performance, not Lexus-like fit and finish. But I still wonder if my headliner is worse than should be expected?
Unfortunately my car is also included in the secondary chain tensioner FSA, so I'll be popping my oil filler cap when my Amazon-ordered mirror shows up tomorrow...
