Hi folks.....

The wait for my new car continues, so in the meantime I've been watching YouTube vids to help me choose a new exhaust system.

I've decided on the ford Racing Borla Touring system with black tips:headbang:

With shipping, I'm looking at $1760 US, and on top of that I'll get stung for import duty on the UK side:doh:

I accept that whatever way I do it, I'm gonna have to pay, and that's fine, but I don't want to pay more than I need to...

Any suggestions on the best way to get parts, from US to UK would be great...

I'll also be wanting, an oil seperator, hood struts, and maybe some Steeda stuff...

So if I can find a good US supplier, that'll be fair with me on shipping costs I'll be back for more:cheers:

You can get shipping quotes that include duty and VAT so at least you know what you are in for. My CJPP order was inclusive; and you don't have to wait on an invoice this end before delivery/collection. Good way to break the news to your other half, a great big CJPP box turning up. :D

Contact Ron Fenton at STS Imports:

Best to call, rather than email. Not the quickest method as his stuff comes via container ship. However, many companies offer free shipping within the US, so get it sent to his Florida location. It'll then be put in a container (usually one a month) and then you can either collect from his UK location or get him to courier it to you (which is cheaper than you may imagine).

Ron is well known in the UK Mustang community, and comes highly recommended :)

I'm just waiting on the ransom note from HMRC for the exhaust I've just bought, it was $1445 delivered (ÂŁ950). I expect to pay @ 25% import duty/VAT.

Levittown Ford Super Centre parts, a trader on here. This was for a FRPP by Borla Touring with chrome tips. It arrived in Stanstead, where it's awaiting clearance, two days after ordering and paying.

$1195 + $250 shipping, CJPP wanted nearly $400 for shipping.

I also got offered the Borla Touring for $1300 delivered from another trader, Jayman, (still got Dick Turpin at HMRC to pay though)

I've contacted most of the traders on here, Levittown were by far the most professional and they have a huge number of parts available. Expect to pay @ $50 more for the black chrome.

Hope this helps.

Oh and Petit Racing in the UK are the UK distributors of Steeda parts, I'll post up their contact details later, the guy that runs the company is a friend of mine, he'll certainly be open to group discounts.
