Hi,

it has been a while, since i postet something here. In between I sold my 2015 Ecoboost after 105000 kilometers and bought myself an 2020 Bullitt here in Germany.

The following modifications were applied:

bullitt.jpg

JLT cold air intake
Intake bridge (corrected translation: Intake manifold) of the 2018+ Facelift.
Adapted software.

The result is an output of a bit more than 500 hp and around 440 ft lb of torque.
The increase in torque at low rpm is more impressive than the increase in hp.
(You need to understand that in Europe the Mustang comes with a bit less power and torque than the US models to stay in european emission limits)

Last weekend was the day I tested the result on the german autobahn with no speed limit. It was a public holiday, so no trucks were allowed and due to corona restrictions there were only a very limited number of cars on the autobahn.
With 44°F at 7 am in the morning, the conditions were perfect.

First video: (short, showing rpm, speed in kmh measured by the GPS sensor of the camera, and height above sea level)

Second video: looong and a bit boring, but nevertheless... (showing speed in kmh measured by the GPS sensor of the camera, and height above sea level)

At both video the speed was limited to exactly 300 kmh (186mph) on the speedometer. The GPS reading was a bit below that.

I loved it ;-)

Cheers, Jörg

The Bullitt I shipped with the Intake bridge of the GT 350.
Hm, I don't know if that is the right translation. No, I think intake manifold is the right translation, sorry for that.

The Iintake manifold of the "ordinary" GT (later than 2018) is actually better than the one from the GT 350.
So that was changed. A specific connector was necessary to connect the large throttle from the Bullitt (which is the same than the one from the GT 350) to the manifold of the GT (2018+)

"They say" this is the optimal air intake.

Hope that clarifies 😉

Thank you :like:

How stable is a ‘euro’ PP1 at those speeds ? Are you a MagneRide car ?

I have the MagneRide suspension and I think it does a good job, even at high speed.
As it was my first run at this speed I chose a piece of the autobahn, which was mainly straight. Also to have a good view ahead, in the rare case that something is laying on the track.

I have so far not been on a racetrack, that is still to come (sometime 😎)

So you replaced the GT350 intake manifold with a 2018+GT intake manifold. Interesting. I think you're the first to do that.

Hi,

no, I'm definitely not the first one with that modification.
There is a german tuner who offers that modification with quite some success.

webpage (in german): https://auto-hentzschel.de/blogs/news/bullitt-evo500

There you can find also the results from a dyno run:

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0031/4176/3190/files/BULLITT_EVO500.jpg?v=1594396912

Graphs are in kW which need to be multiplied by 1.36 to get hp and nM which need to be multiplied with 0.74to get ft lb.

And I know that at least 50 of these Bullitt modifications drive on German streets 😉

That’s getting after it. I just pulled up a km/mph calculator and it shows you were doing 181.44 mph. I’m not arguing that the 2018+ intake manifold outperforms the Bullit/GT350 intake manifold. I’m actually very impressed. I never would have thought that to be the case. Props to you on the high speed run.

What fuel were you using during that run? Are you tuned for E85 ?

This is also an interesting option if the cats / GPF's are left in place - it opens up a tuning option for the euro market :like:

One thing i forgot so far:

The Mustang now requires at least 93 octane (US norm) or 98 octane (European norm) fuel.
Dont know about E85. E85 is rarely available in Germany

Yes. The particle filters/cats which are mandatory now in the European Union are leading to issues on the racetrack. If you ride it hard the temperature gets so high that the car goes in limp mode.

This tune enriches the air/fuel ratio to avoid overheating. To test for that was the reason for the second (long) run.

I thought high temperatures were a good thing for GPFs, as they helped with the burning off of the soot particles.
