And Ford hasn't lied about that before? :) The previous 5.0 engine wasn't a 5.0, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they use 429 on a 6.8 (it'd be proportionally the same lie. Ha ha).
which 5.0 wasn't 302 c.i.?

the 302 windsor was 301.6 c.i., and the coyote is 302.2 c.i. both of those are and should be considered 302 cubic inches.

edit, yeah, n/m I gotcha. in which case the windsor rounds down to 4.9 reall,y whereas teh coyote barely passes the 4.95 markto round up to 5.0

2018+ Coyote is 307 cubic inches which is actually 5 liters. One of the more quiet changes they did.

Which is so great because now I can truly say "I'm rollin' in my Five-point-oh" , which was, of course, dishonest when I had a 1990 Fox Body GT Vert. Vanilla Ice has been vindicated!

that due to how they did the cylinder walls?

Actually a liter is 60.124 cubic inches. Therefore a 5 liter motor is 305.119 cubic inches. But whoise being exact anyway. :)

Your value for cubic inches per liter is off (1 liter = 61 cubic inches), but your 305 equals 5.0 liters is correct - I presume it was just a typo. The Gen 3 Coyote is a 307 c.i. = 5.03 liters.

Yes, plasma wire arc transfer cylinder liners are thinner than the iron liners they replaced. That yields a slightly bigger diameter bore for more about 5 c.i. additional displacement, and slightly larger diameter intake and exhaust valves over Gen 2 Coyotes since there's more room in the cylinders. Gen 3 also has +1 mm additional lift (14 mm) camshafts over Gen 2 (13 mm). Ford did other things to accommodate the higher redline to take advantage of the additional airflow of the larger valves and higher lift cam in the Gen 3 like new higher flow head castings, stiffer valve springs, and updated viscous damper. These are obviously in addition to the higher compression ratio (12:1 vs. 11:1), direct/port fuel injection, and the improved intake manifold.

Moreso vice versa. It’s because they simply gave the engine a larger bore, but in doing that, they needed to strengthen the cylinder walls, which is why they used the plasma-arch cylinder liners

But the 2018+ Coyote actually is 307CI. Still 5 liters rounded down, it’s technically something like 5.035l

I doubt it would weigh much more than the coyote... maybe 30 - 40lbs... less than a blower. The coyote may be aluminum, but those heads are huge and heavy.

There are lots of reasons why a big block swap is not appealing, but buying a big block Mustang from the factory is another matter.
Well you also have to remember that displacement doesn't correlate with weight, technically. You could have a really small 7 liter engine assuming it sucks in a lot of air, which is what displacement is. So assuming this is a smaller engine but is possibly bored and stroked out, it could be pretty light.
