Big things appear on the horizon for Ford V8 power. I am surprised no one has not heard of the new 6.8 liter Windsor engine. Ford is really giving us some new performance Mustangs. To have a 6.8 liter V8 ready for production in 2022 is amazing.
And where is there any info on this? A quick google search just brings me to the 6.8l v10 that's not exactly new.

It doesn't make much sense to me, either. Ford is is big on getting good fuel economy, and hasn't budged from their modular technology. They're also putting a lot into the electric engine. I find it hard to believe, everything considered, that Ford would then go and throw a 6.8l pushrod v8 into the Mustang. Well, anything that isn't a limited run. Don't get me wrong, I love big pushrod engines, but I'm just not buying it.

If they made it in aluminum, rather than cast iron, they'd have something.

The last thing the Mustang needs right now, is more weight, and more of it up-front.

I doubt it would weigh much more than the coyote... maybe 30 - 40lbs... less than a blower. The coyote may be aluminum, but those heads are huge and heavy.

There are lots of reasons why a big block swap is not appealing, but buying a big block Mustang from the factory is another matter.

If the 6.8 liter V8 ends up in a Mustang , I would suspect the block would be an aluminum alloy. Maybe the Mustang variant will be a touch over 6.8 liter, like 429 cubes.

I believe it was in one of REVan Evan‘s YouTube videos where they weighed a 7.3 and a Coyote. The 7.3 was about 130 pounds heavier. If there is a 6.8 and it is a shortdeck version of the 7.3, it will still be probably 100 pounds heavier, unless they do an aluminum block.

It would have to be 7 liters. 6.8 is only about 415 cubes.

If this is a big block V8 in a traditional sports car/coupe...all in. If this is some kind of other SUV (ie. Durango post above) with a Mustang emblem slapped on it...no thanks. I really, really loathe that g@##$%^ Mach E and the precedence it has set. I am in constant f@#%ing fear every time something like this posts now that the next bad idea is going to come to fruition such as a four door sedan abomination.

As disappointing as this is, I can totally see the viability of it... definitely not for 2022, but probably for S750. Since Ford is aiming for more of a Challenger-sized vehicle in S750, it’s going to need an engine that can make up for that weight gain. In a car like that, an engine that revs high and makes all its power up top (like the coyote) with relatively low torque will feel like an absolute dog. They’ll need something with more low end grunt, which is where a large displacement pushrod engine will be beneficial

But lord almighty, I hate where the Mustang is going. Welcome back to 1970, when Carroll Shelby saw the more luxury-boat direction that the Mustang was going in and decided to split ties with Ford, after which they had about 20 years of the ugliest and worst performing Mustangs in history

And Ford hasn't lied about that before? :) The previous 5.0 engine wasn't a 5.0, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they use 429 on a 6.8 (it'd be proportionally the same lie. Ha ha).

Look buddy boy.......the man has been 100% correct now for well over a year.
He's posted on Yellow Bullet / SVT / Mustang 6G.
Again......he's a member here and I'll let him speak for himself.
Calm down, lol. I was mostly just busting your chops. I just want more official info on what its going to be used for.
