Definitely order your car. You get it as you want, not how the dealership spec'd it. Especially when spending that amount of money.
I've ordered a bunch of my vehicles. It's the way to go if you can wait for delivery.

Good luck. I do like the M cars myself. I've been eyeing the '22 X5 M50i for a while now. What a beastly machine. Would love the X5M, but need the awd for driving to work in the winter mess.
Actually my Mustang is the first car I have gotten without ordering one.

Looks like cooled seats and heated steering wheel are also options for another $2k
Don't get me wrong, not trying to argue but when it's all said and done these German cars are just way more $ man. I want one but just need to put my kid through college first... lol
As a former owner of 4 BMW M3s, 1 997S I now what you are saying. One reason I may just end up keeping my car is because of the good position I am in now

I really like the older M3s with the high-revving V8s in them. I test drove a ~2003 a couple years ago and I loved the interior. The size of the car and its styling were great as well. It was in limp mode and had a million engine lights going off though. I looked up the stuff about the expensive repairs they might need and decided not to risk it.

The new M4 is not my cup of tea. I don't like the new styling and it's too big.

Why not an M2? To me the straight six turbo engine shines because the car can be smaller than a Mustang. Why throw away that advantage?

You know thats a good question, the new M2 is about a year away. Those things never have decent leases, but it is on my radar as is keeping my Mustang that I have.

I think the M2 is a great car! so fast and agile, Lots of HP per pound. Must be a blast.
I was so close to getting one before going back into another s550
At the end , I chose the Stang for the V8 and more trunk space, hence GT.
If I could swing it, it would be an older M3 with a V8 and 2-doors.

The ESP calibration and control power and near perfect weight distribution enables the 0-60 time.

IMO the car is way over priced better to reach for an 8 vert and get a huge discount because no one buying them, or SL or LC500.

Mustang is still superior value just spend $10K on interior and sound and makes 4 look cheap. I do like the huge grills.

I already upgraded my interior...and you got to be nuts to spend 10K on the interior. You will never see that money again. I just did Katzkinz, leather center console, 8" sync coversion and premium door panels from a wrecked Ecoboost permium all for a total of $2k. You will never, ever be able to replicate what BMW did with the M4, sorry.

The issue isn't about value, bang for the buck the Mustang always have it over almost all peformance cars.

Regarding the 8 series or a SL and such...no manual tranny. Killer right there.

Its not just the 0-60 time, the manual ran 121mph in the 1/4 mile...a manual Mustang GT is at best 115mph.

My interior..

I agree that the grills are getting out of hand. My wife loves convertibles so when I was looking for one for her I looked at several. Of course the one I wanted was the Porsche 911 but I just could not pull the trigger on that. The M240i was a fantastic deal before Covid and she loves it.

I was looking at a M240i Coupe, but no manual anymore. BMW used to offer a manual in every car they made, not anymore. Only the M cars get a manual.

No way I could live with that giant beaver grill, I also wanted M4 and went with the M2C because of that horrible grill

Would love the M2C, but they lease horribly. I want to lease.

I wouldn't get the upcoming model. I would think you'll get a better deal on the current model buying closer to the end of the life cycle instead of going with the next version right at the start. And usually the best versions come out later.

I would assume the M2C is cheaper than the M4, correct?

I love the M4. A fully loaded M4 vs a fully loaded GT is basically a 2x price difference at the end of the day, not 25K. :)

A fully loaded Mustang GT is comparable equipment wise to a base M4. Yes you start adding custom paint, ceramic brakes, carbon fiber seats and all the other goodies which you can't even get in a Mustang, than yes it is way more expensive. Unless we start talking about GT500. You can spec out an M4 comp XDrive to darn near $100k. I am comparing apples to apples. You can't get ceramic brakes in a Mustang GT, you can't get Carbon fibre seats for $3800 in a Mustang. You can't get full leather and custom paint which alone right there adds near almost $7k in price.

I showed you my build to what a fully loaded Mustang GT Premium goes for and they are separated by $20k in price. Still no small chunk of change.

A base M4 already comes with leather, android auto and everything else that a fully loaded Mustang Premium gets. Only the BMWs is much higher quality.

No the M2C was more expensive. They started at $83K, my build for the M4 is just under $75K.
