Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the correct place for this but here is my solution.
I recently bought a new 2019 Ford Shelby GT350 got her home and a few weeks later I noticed a flaw on the left lower rocker panel. I did not notice it at the time of purchase. I have brought it to the dealership where I bought it from and they want me to bring my vehicle in where they say. Remove the rocker panel on the lower left side, Have a new rocker panel put on after it is painted at there body shop.

Can I get some feedback on if this is the correct thing for me to do?
I don't want my brand new (month old) Shelby going in a paint booth.
Is this the right thing for me to do?
What if the paint doesn't match?

Any feedback would be greatly appriecated.

Are you talking about the black plastic rocker trim shown here? If so, it is not painted.

its probably the rocker panel molding, which is 2 pieces in one, the black textured part in the pic but also part of it is painted body color.

its not noticeable unless you are looking at it up close. It's hard to see in this picture, the lower rocker panel is all plastic and I'M not sure if I should really be making a big deal about it. I guess for me its the principal of the matter. I didn't see it when I bought it and now it's just really bother me. Not really want to blame it on the dealership but they should have noticed it and disclosed it to me when I bought the car.

I found little things on mine and no one knows but OCD me. I will do about anything to avoid dealer...too many problems over the years. And it is a Ford not a Porsche. If u can't see it from few feet away, then I would PPF it and move on. When I crank it up, I tend to forget about the little things. But if really bothering you, go to shop u pick and pay for the repair.

I am not says that there is not something there that you don't like and it bothers you. BUT if we can't see it in that picture I would not have it repainted. I feel you are just asking for more problems. I have a few things on mine that I wish were better but there is no way in hell I will take it to a dealership body shop. Let's face it it is a nice great fun to drive car but it is still a mass produced Ford. It is not an Aston Martin where they spend 40 hours on the painting process.

I’m assuming we’re looking at this?? Looks like a paint chip, correct?

I thought that too before he posted the pic where he circles the suspect area.
