considering how cheap the GT500 Oil-pump+oil-pan is from FP I would just use that kit (or half of it). Admittedly that doesn't address the chain-drive gear...

You'll need to use the whole kit. The GT500 pickup tube is longer, i.e. it extends further down from the rear support bracket.
