The factory Goodyear F1s on my '17GT are almost shot...probably 1/8" tread depth left. Been raining here a ton and I'm hydroplaning at anything above 45mph, so it's almost time for new tires. Looking for a summer tire. "Winter" down here isn't and the temp seldom drops below 40F.

I'm going with the stock 265/35-20 at all four corners b/c I rotate my tires and I like the factory 20" wheels.

I am looking for tires with good dry grip and good treadwear. My GT is my DD and I put about 20K miles/year on the car. I don't track the car and only occasionally engage in the stoplight drags. I do however frequently flirt with triple digits on the open interstate b/c my commute takes me there and it's (fairly) safe. ;)

Not crazy about the Goodyear F1's (I think their dry grip is sub-optimal) but I don't have any experience with other tires to compare it to. Been looking at the Nitto NT555/G2's. The fact that they are $100 cheaper than anything else sort of scares me, but I see them mentioned all the time.

Also looking at the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Haven't read good things about Pirelli P-Zero tires on this forum, but I'm open to suggestions.

Other recommendations? I'm buying from Discount Tire, if that helps. Thanks in advance!

I just did a video with a quick comparison of the Nitto NT555 G2 and the Indy 500. I have had both of them.

I would go with any of these for the price. If you can spend more go with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

Nice video, BoosTang23T. Vids are always helpful.

I did make a decision. I went with Conti ECS on Apex EC-7 19x10...upgrade-itis and all that. :D Very happy with the Contis so far. Much better ride than stock and really liking the Contis. Drove to work in the pouring rain, literally an inch of standing water on the highway and had zero probs at a nice, sane speed of 50mph. Even when new the Goodyear F1s would hydroplane at that speed. Now, we don't get rain like this often down here and dry grip and wear are more important to me. Time will tell.

Awesome my brother... Glad you found good tires... The stock ones are horrible. I did the Indy 500 at first and then the Nittos came with the new wheels.

@BoosTang23T and anyone else with experience/knowledge of both the Indy500s and NT555 G2...how's the treadlife? I'm looking at getting 255/35 and 285/35 on a 8.5/10 setup and the Indy 500s are looking to be about $780 while the Nittos are about $670.

Curious on the thoughts there since the Nittos seem to be a tad cheaper for this size combo.

Go with the Nittos. The tread life in my opinion is much better on the Nittos along with everything else like performance, handling, quietness, and grip. I had the Indy 500s for about 15K miles and they were about 60-70% down on tread. The Nittos have about 10K Miles and still have 90-95% tread. Something to take into account is my setups...

Indy 500: 235/50 front 255/40 rear on 18"

NT555 G2: 275/35 all around on 20"

Not sure that makes a difference, but on my experience the Nittos are the way to go when choosing these two.
