After 5 months my Mustang finally came in today. I got it home and, like everyone else, played with all of the settings. I went to set the color of my instrument panel and it informed me I cannot do this in the daylight. OK, so I pulled the car into my garage, shut the doors and turned off all lights so that it was pitch black in there, and tried it again. Same message.

How does it know that it is still daylight outside of the garage? Does it use its own clock and compares it to Greenwich Mean Time and the United States Naval Observatory and an atomic clock somewhere? Or am I just doing something wrong?

I did not have the headlights on. Is that what it cues on to determine whether it is daylight or night time? If so, I will try it with the headlights on.

Thanks everyone.

The build date was February 9, but I guess Ford parked several thousand Mustangs for about a month or so. Rumor was that it was due to some problem found on the line. You now know everything I know about this issue.

Oh well, it's here.

Glad you got it ... it's the right time of year to start enjoying the weather in the PNW. Dang, I'd like to know why Ford held thousands of Mustangs to be tweaked before shipping out to the dealers. Don't mean to change the subject.

Change Color ?

Hello, newbie here and really interested in this,

You can change the color of the instruments, or just the brightness?

How do you do it, if its color, or did I miss something in the manual.

Thanks, Chris / Flaps

Assuming you are talking about the speedo/tach. It's in the manual. Instrument Display Screen: Settings -> MyColor -> Gauge Color

Bummer again

Man Ford really hurts the GT Base owners with all this cool stuff you cant get without paying for the Premium. some of these things should be prewire for easy upgrades and easy money for Ford on after sales.

I want the Pony Mirrors and the Toggles and the Lights stuff.

Oh well still love it even without all the fun goodies.

My car did this when I first brought it home, same message. The next night after driving around with my headlights set to auto (that worked fine) I came home and tried again. It worked then and ever since. Maybe it just needed a few light / dark cycles.
