Sure a premium 20" wheel can chop weight, but saying most 20's weigh less is wrong.
On an earlier thread a member here put gt500 20" on his 350 (I dont remember if they were factory or aftermarket) and added 8lbs to the rears and 6lbs to the fronts; sounds small but thats huge when its at the wheels. Add that to larger overall diameter and you have successfully diminished your cars performance.
I will never do a mod to my car that negatively affects performance.
Like the ricers with their wheels on 45 degree angles.... blows my mind that anyone thinks that's cool.
I saw a video on Youtube from Auto fantic and he praises the P51 wheels set up as they are 21lbs in wieght each obv and the handling of the car was way better, should i jus opt for that considering the performance of the car as the wheels are lighter compared to OEM and other options i was going for ?

Jus found that the BB wheels website the replica for the GT500 wheel they only have a 20x10.5 size , im guessing thats too small for the rears .......
so that now narrows it down to SVE or P51
https://www.bbwheelsonline.com/repl...-5x114.3-gloss-black-45mm-gt5-215-5114-45-gb/

I cringe when I see this... look at the write up on your link for the wheel; " wheels fit a wide variety of vehicles such as the 2006 & older Jeep Wrangler YJ and TJ along with the Ford Ranger, Explorer & Escape.........

Nothing against this company but when you're shopping for wheels for a car like this you shouldn't be looking for the cheapest, generic wheel you can fit on the car.

I absolutely agree with you there , i did get that feeling with them when i saw that TBH, but on the other hand P51 and SVEr350 has been installed and used by many Gt owners and seems safe and good options i believe, what's you opinion on this ?

How can you make such statements when you’re not even sure whether the wheels you refer to were aftermarket or factory? I’m confident in making the assertion I did because most aftermarket wheels for these cars, even in 20” sizes weigh less than the dinosaurs in-place from the factory. Factory GT500 wheels are heavier... yes. Do some research before trying to invalidate my point with uncertainty.

And, to say that the 350 and 500 are “essentially the same” cars is lunacy. The dynamics are night-n-day, especially with rotor diameter. Smh

@Shawn78600 , late to the party here but some info for you.

Here's my 5 min video of my R with the SVE R350 (19x10 / 19x11, 35 series tires) but using 8mm spacers all-around because IMO the R350's don't poke enough:

Here's my 20" Vossens (20x10.5 / 20x11, 30 series tires) and the height difference between the 2 sets of wheels is negligible and practically imperceptible:

FYI, the R350's don't come in 20", only 19".

Believe it or not i have seen both these videos before and it did inspire me for the wheel change , vossen is not in my budget unless i find a good deal somewhere second hand. And yes SVE r350 made 20s, i would have got them hands down jus for the price and look, I do love the way the 20s look and would help me with the clearance of my driveway issue as well. thanks for the help bud

$200 Generic fit aftermarket wheels are not as good as the factory equipment. And in most cases are not only heavier but require an absurd amount of weight to balance. The aftermarket tolerances are far from what the car manufacturers require. If we’re talking forgestars or other premium brands it’s another story altogether. These companies build a wheel that is superior, and are designed for the car they will bolted to. However the performance will still be better with the wheel and tire diameter that it was engineered for, unless changes are made to the suspension etc

And I pointed out that there ARE differences between the 350 and 500 outlining my point that Ford made changes to support the 20” wheel.

My “lunacy”??? in saying the cars are essentially the same has me “shaking my head” at you. You must be one of the guys that gets offended when someone calls your car a mustang... quickly correcting the offender that it’s a SHELBY. Lmfao

How many “replica” wheels for the GT350 do you know of in 19” or 20” for $200 a piece? Yeah... work that one out.

Of the brands mentioned so far that the OP is looking at, all appear to be under 32 pounds and over $200/wheel. As you can see from the P51 specs above, even the 20x11 is only 22 pounds. So, it appears you’re stretching and providing inaccuracies. As YOU stated, you didn’t even know the status of the wheels transferred from the 350 to the 500.

And loony?.. yeah I stand by my word. The 350 has little in common with the 500 up front. The 350R has more in common with the 500, but even then, brakes are a major fitment issue and load dynamics even play into the differences as the 500 surely has more weight to address.

As for your funny comment at the end, don’t try to be a zero... it’s unbecoming. If you’re wrong, you’re wrong. It’s okay. I may be wrong, a flat-earther I am not mi amigo.

I’m totally wrong, the 350 and 500 have absolutely nothing in common... what was I thinking lol

Click the link on post 12 brainiac. That is what I’m referring to.
Wrong size, wrong offset, fits a jeep. And oh that’s right... the weight isn’t even advertised.

Time to own your above statement and admit you’re wrong.

Hey guys thank you and I appreciate all the input from everyone but in the end I decided to go with the SVER 350 replica just because right now money is kind of an issue these are like 1100 bucks and also I can throw my kind of brand new tires on it and drop the car with FP Springs.
But I appreciate everybody’s input thank you. Also I will be in the market for SV701 signature wheel and dark gray gunmetal size 20 inch if anybody has these for sale hit me up.

Congratz on your wheel choice OP. They are a good looking set of wheels. At 25.5 lbs/wheel, I’m sure you’ll be good to go.

I am strongly considering the same setup for my 2018 Roush Phase II supercharged GT, as the 19x11 rears are sufficient width to mount a 325 drag radial. It currently has 19x10.5 rears with a 305 drag radial. I am not terribly happy with the Nitto NT05Rs and others have suggested the MT S/S drag radial is a stickier tire than the Nittos.

I've had difficulty finding a set of 4 with the rears being 19x11.5. Anyone have any suggestions?
