So, yesterday I started up my car, drive it out of the garage and parked it there for a few hours. Later in the afternoon I went to park it back in the garage and it wouldn't start. Dash lights come on, windows and all electric working and FOB is fine.

Connected it up to a CTek trickle charger overnight and again this morning nothing..

Called Ford roadside assistance (basically NRMA) this morning and they couldn't work out what's going on. Battery's fine, fuses ok and the diagnostics don't show anu codes. The car is only 3 months old with 2k km's. NRMA dragged it out onto the street and now I have to call my Ford dealer and organise to have it towed there.

Anyone else encountered anything similar??

Is it an auto and in gear? I had a similar problem ages ago in a car I had. I had left it in gear somehow and took the better part of a day to figure it out.

Hope it gets sorted for you quickly whatever the issue is.

It's the 10 speed auto. Definitely in park though.

No, not really. Everything comes on as normal butyou don't hear the engine cranking over.

Did they try starting it in Neutral? (If you can do that - mine's a manual)

I'd check the brake switch to see if it's functioning. I'm not sure if there are two, one for brake lights and one for the starter safety.

The roadside technician did check that brake lights were working whilst foot was on the brake. Hopefully I'll be able to organise to get it towed to Ford tomorrow. Really disappointed though.

I tried that too. Disconnected the battery, left it for half an hour or so, went back, connected it and... nothing... oh well, let's see what Ford says.

😪 sorry to hear that. Don't let these things disappoint you, just think of it as a minor hiccup. You'll be on the road in no time.

Update: I just got off the phone with the Ford Service Centre. They have told me that they had to reprogram the Battery using my master key (?). Apparently there was a bad connection with my dash cam to one of the fuses...... To me, not much of this makes sense but then again I'm not very mechanically minded...
