Not a black wheel hater, but for me l just believe that its not always the best color to compliment a vehicle and where it was once unique has become all too common. But with that said there are certain cars and car colors where black wheels do work quite well.

black is a safe color to pair with, but every car has a unique blend of colors that pair well with their color.

I'm 22. I used to hate black wheels as well. At one point in the mustang shopping process I was making a deal on two identical PP cars, one black and one magnetic. I literally thought "I'll get the black mustang so I can put gunmetal wheels on it. Nobody wants a gray on gray car."

I ended up with a Ruby Red mustang but the black PP wheels have grown on me. In fact, I bought an aftermarket set of wheels in gloss black :p

I know if your 50 your old and if your old you have issues with black wheels. The only thing I did not like about my gt350 was the black 10 spoke wheels, but surprisingly they were starting to grow on me, however I picked up a set of 20" gunmetal wheels recently and it refuled my dislike when I looked at before and after picks. The black wheel, in pics or in person just shows no movement or definition once you get 20' away from the car and the evenly spaced 10 spokes makes it worse.

An FYI on the manual release on your garage door opener, thieves have been known to slip a hook type devise through the top of garage doors to pop the carriage open and gain access into garages. Hate to see anything happen to that beautiful GT350, or anything else of value.:eyebulge:

I like black wheels, gray wheels and silver wheels and colored wheels.

The deal is the color should not have so much contrast as to either disappear as black wheels on a white car or make the car disappear as silver wheels on a black car [you can get away that more often than the former]. This is especially noticeable in photographs where the camera tends to increase contrast. There are exceptions cars with lots of strips or graphics or cars setup to sell wheels and to hell with seeing the car.

Oh yea I am 63.

Yup...and that's why I went with a black with tinted face wheel on my white GT.

Well, I'm 60 and I went out of my way to get the black PP wheels for my car.
Tired of chrome & silver & wanted to do something different (for me) with the 'stang, so went with blacked out badges etc.

I do like those gunmetal wheels tho & the black ones will be a bit of a pain to keep up. I may end up going the gunmetal route at some point, but happy with my choice for now.

Your car looks great BTW, would have LOVED to gotten a GT350, but the stick killed it for me :(

I went with gunmetal gray on my Magnetic.

Maybe matt black on Orange would look better.

BTW I'm 63.

Old is when you board the last train west.

I really like the look of the 18" wheels on a Magnetic V6. They go together very good. They look good with Guard also on my new ride.:headbang: BTW I'm 53
