Story time y’all.... I was never really that into cars until one night in 2005 I was upstairs probably playing LEGO Star Wars or something lol. I remember going downstairs to get a snack and what i saw on the tv screen was a sleek grey bodyline and Nicolas Cage talking to a car....
I immediately forgot what I was doing down there when he pulled it out and I got my first real look at “Eleanor”, I asked my dad “what kinda car is that??” He said that’s a Shelby GT500. I was enamored... After watching the rest of the movie I immediately went back upstairs and searched google for “Shelby GT500s” lol. The next day my dad asked if I wanted to go look at new mustangs, the new body style had just come out and I was thought there’s no way he’s serious right now. That day we left with a 06 Mustang GT, bright yellow with shaker hood, black wheels and black accents, it was the first manual car I ever rode in. I was hooked, the visceral feelings was unreal for me as a kid at the time. This pretty much sealed my love for cars and for mustangs specifically. Fast forward 15 years and I’ve had just about every kinda of mustang except the one that started it all for me. So in a way this car has really actually become my unicorn, rare mythical creature impossible to catch and has always eluded me. Until now...

I cannot believe how this happened but here I am in disbelief sitting in my dream car. It’s surreal tbh. I had to sell almost everything, both cars, put drifting on hold just to get the sliver of a opportunity to do this. And worth it is the best understatement of the year. To those wondering I will be back drifting probably later next year just need time to recoup. But for now I’m just going to enjoy the moment. And a enjoyable one it is indeed. It was not easy though, I originally placed my order 7 months ago and up until just a few weeks ago I was still on unscheduled material hold. So basically after some back and forth with the dealership I had originally ordered from I learned that the allocation that was supposed to be mine never really existed, so they just held onto my deposit for 7 months. Upon confirming this I went up there and retrieved my deposit and began my search again. Luckily I was quickly able to find another car that had just been produced with very similar specs within a week of me canceling my initial false order. Today is only my 4th day of ownership, the car had 5.5 miles when I took delivery, today is day 4 and I’m already at a tick over 1000 now hahahaha to say I enjoy driving this thing is a understatement. Already done a JLT intake and Lethal resonator delete and man I seriously can’t get enough!

I like to disassemble things.
Nice to see you finally get the car you wanted.

Congrats on your new baby. Would be interesting to see all the different stories out there for these cars. I'd imagine they're all a little different with twists and turns along the way.

Congratulations! Agree - an amazing vehicle and worth the wait. Took my wife for a drive to a remote restaurant/store on Friday. Great fall day in the Midwest. My wife asked if I'm happy with it - VERY was my response. She agreed and loves it.

I also said that it is a car that needs to be respected. So much torque and HP, looking forward to the school experience to help with my skill development. My SRT 300 and 03 Cobra have power but this is a different league! Thank you Ford Perf for having the chassis and brakes match the package.

I know right?

Which one of those 4 days did you do your oil change on OP? 1000 is a lot in that amount of time but I get the lust to drive it more and more.

I've had mine since early July and just cracked 850.

Conga rats nonetheless, beautiful car in a beautiful spec.

Congrats! That was a special movie to me also, but I’m older than you and my obsession started with smoky and bandit lol.

i fully admit to listening to eleanor’s final chase scene last week on the way to work(jeep has a sub and components, sounds wild)

So who at Ford put you up to putting the air filter on your head?

J/K. Enjoy the car, go over the whole thing and make sure its right and enjoy.

I’m not old, and I too think that’s a fantastic movie.

“I’m going to need a speedy car...speeder than that. Speeder than that!
