Looks like a great trip, so far, and lots of memories being made.

As for the dreary weather - it's no problem when you have a bright orange GT350..... your car brightens up all of those pics!

Stunning car looks killer. I see you killing a lot of bugs along the way 😂. Not sure if you already mentioned it but did they keep the oem wheels?

Yeah the bugs kicked in when I hit Texas. The car is filthy right now!
I left all takeoff parts minus the hood.

Route of dreams - the Mother Road.

So glad to see that many of the features have survived the 2008 downturn and the pandemic.

Enjoy the ride!

Thank you for posting these. It has been an absolute joy to follow!

Did you happen to see Mater, Doc and Sally by chance as you went thru "Radiator Springs?" :giggle:
There is so much imbedded in that movie... Route 66 history, the industrial revolution, a lifestyle that has disappeared, the idea of slowing down and enjoying life....

Fantastic posts, love this being an expat Texan. My GT was going to be Orange Fury when I started looking. I had to put it on ice for a few years and it was Twister Orange by then, I love both colors!!! Great 350!

Not much today. I hit my end of Route 66. The weather was awful and unfortunately pops wasn’t lit.

I would highly recommend this run guys. I would liked to have stayed in Vegas a little longer to run through the canyon and bounce up to Roswell. New Mexico hwy 6 to los Lunas was a really amazing drive. Just lonely road with no law enforcement… it was nice to walk the dog so to speak. Just driving towards a snow capped mountain peak in the far distance…. Arizona roads are awful, serious craters in the hwy but locals all warned to stay in the left lane but because of the rain, they were there also. Indian reservations were pretty poverty stricken. El Rancho was amazing. I had a great time in Amarillo because I saw family. Texas has a bunch of museums that wish I could have seen. Shamrock had a special small town charm. I had a couple of kids in a V6 mustang that basically were following the car around before I told the to cover and show it to them. Popped the hood and they asked questions. They were excited and surprised that I didn’t mind talking to them and showing them the car. Gotta remember… small town… Oklahoma is a pass in my book.
The weather is pretty bad here in Memphis and I don’t think I will be making Pigeon Forge tomorrow. More tomorrow…. So not sure I’m going. It’s been a great trip… can’t say how awesome it’s been. Too many great interactions with people along the way. Here’s my ranking of must does.
1. Vegas : Shelby American
2. El Rancho : Gallup NM
3. Los Lunas NM
4. TX is awesome and home
5. Everything else
