Got it. I know it’s available in both rwd and awd so I figured I ask as my fiancé’s awd M56 feels faster off the line than my 10-speed 19 GT despite it being over a second slower to 60mph.
With the 545i, it might just have more low-end torque than your GT?
It has good low end torque but at the end the issue is that no matter how good I am or any one is at manual shifting the Auto transmissions are just amazing. I will be tired of shifting as fast as an automatic everytime I drive so I have to accept the manual is just more personal than an auto.

I don't know but if i put my car in Sport + and roll into the throttle the car is going stupid speeds in literally no time. I've never been in a car that got to 100 mph so fast without even realizing it.
Man, I wish I have an auto and a manual mustang. I didn't Wana get my first mustang in an automatic but if I ever buy a mustang again it will be auto.

It's funny this subject comes up, my E39 M5 "felt" faster than my Mustang because of how torquey the S62 is (I believe it makes about 80% torque around 2000rpm). The Mustang would always out trap and out ET it at the 1/4 mile but it didn't feel as violent, the M5 will snap you into the seat.

Throwing a Lund tune on the car sure changed that though, now the Mustang will feel frisky in any gear.

The throttle mapping makes a huge difference. The Challenger guys use a plug in module called a Pedal Commander to change the mapping and it makes a huge difference in the "feel". Doesn't make any more power, but it's like going from a half turn throttle to a 1/4 turn throttle on a bike. Like sport mode on steroids.

Maybe I misread but I thought you stated that you have a 2005...? It’s possible I’m confused, but in 2005, automatic transmissions were still generally slosh boxes that couldn’t compete with a decent driver using a manual, weren’t they? I remember back then that cars which offered both a manual and auto option were always outperformed by the manual, excluding early DCTs.

It is annoying though the BMW cost like 3 times less than the Mustang yet provides better performance (minus crappy suspension) with a lot of space inside and practicality not to mention no sound in the cabin at all.
3times less??that's like 12k.really??

Not that Cheap as I'm in Europe but his 550i was like 15 000 euro second hand and my Mustang was 41200 euro new so it was almost 3 times cheaper :(

Do you have the drive modes on your car? That really changes the throttle tip-in from Normal to say Sport+ and really changes the car for the better. I don't think auto is better than manual or vice versa as these are personal choices we all make for many reasons. Anyone arguing that one is better than the other for another person is ludicrous to me.

Sometimes I wish I had a manual but I'm happy I got the auto as it suits my preferences the best. I think you have to give the GT some time to get used to it. My Camaro SS felt better than my GT initially but in a little while I got used to how the Coyote worked & then I was like............:turkey:

OP hasn't mentioned if he has a 301A/400A. That said it appears the he is having serious "buyers remorse" because he never test drove an A10. Hopefully lesson learned.

Mine is a base model. I have a throttle enhancer but I feel like it makes the car a little jerky when I press the throttle.

I have a 2019 GT. I was making a reference to the 2005 about how it felt faster but obviously it's not compared to s550

I have heard very little positives about these throttle enhancers. Some have even had concerns about damaging their engine because to them. Not first hand knowledge but you can look it up.

Now if you really want to solve your "feel" issue and are not too concerned about your warranty go with an E85 tune. Problem solved. Unless you really want an A10.

Yes. I was talking about the 2005 automatic in your 2005 BMW being a slosh box and not a high-end modern auto transmission.
The reason your BMW feels faster is the low-end torque, not so much the transmission.

Actually the ZF transmission in 2005 BMWs is crazy fast shifting with the triptronic and without. I think the auto keeps it in a good power band.

I can tell you the '19 doesn't give the same "feeling" of acceleration and speed that I've witnessed in other cars - especially if you're not driving and watching the tach / speedo.
Indeed. JI was overtaking someone on the highway last weekend, didn't think I was on it, and my wife tapped me with "Hey, you're going 94!" (the dashcam in her line of sight has a GPS speed display on the back). I honestly thought I was down around 80.
