Okay, I know what you are thinking. The Mustang wasn't the first car with sequential turn signals. They have been around since the 60s.(Thunderbird, I'm looking at you)

But the Mustang seems to be the first modern car to incorporate sequential signals. Have you seen any other modern cars incorporate sequential signals from the factory?

I believe the new Audi A4 has them. I just saw one last night and it looked like a shooting star across the right side of the back of the car.

Will Mustang set the sequential trend for cars in the modern era?

Yeah the newer Audi and Lexus cars/suvs.

I also seen an EMS has a tiny arrow-shaped sequential signals back in 2011.

I noticed an Audi several weeks ago. It was slick how the LED strip just seamlessly lit up. I thought it was a custom deal but since then I saw a few more Audis with it, so I realized its a factory design.

Im sure Porsche is going to follow soon.

Maybe I am the only one, but I don't really care for the sequential lights. I'm just glad I can't see them while I am driving.

I thought they were cool when they came out on the S197(?), but it just seems played out to me.

To be honest the sequential tail lights bug me because they are not a traditional Mustang feature. I had a '67 Cougar. Cougars had sequential tail lights from day one, but I believe the only '60's Mustangs to have them were the CS, which borrowed the Cougar tail lights.

Audi cheapens their rear brake lights for the US. In Europe, the turn signals are so much cooler and do not incorporate the same light they use for brakes. Pisses me off.

thank the DOT for not allowing sequential turn signals. Mustangs turn signals are somewhat of a loophole as it can claim the inner most light is the turn signal the middle and outer ones are just gravy. Also says turn signals must be 2200 sq mm in size. With the advances in lighting technology you can get smaller lights with greater light density, but this number hasnt changed with the times.

I think all cars should have them. I believe it would at least get people to start using their turn signals since its "fun". I know I use mine probably too much now because I want to make sure everyone sees how cool they are. Like em or not I think we can all admit they are an interesting novelty on any car. Single blinking lights are soooooooo 2000. ;)
