Honestly unless the DCT reviews prove to be absolutely stunning it rather put a whipple on a GT350 and feed it E85 and call it a day for less money too!

Plus that Voodoo sound cannot be beat period!
Sounds like a great way to devalue a GT350.

And the GT500 is still going to handle better, have better brakes, cooling and aero.

That 1,000 lbs really hurts the Hellcat.
it used to be a rough rule of thumb: 7lb = 1HP.

Heck, even the 797 hp Redeye Hellcat widebody only trapped 125 mph per Car and Driver. It's over 4,500 lbs.
For giggles assume the GT500 is an even 4000lbs. The Redeye's 797HP would be de-rated to 797-(500/7)=726 for purposes of comparison.

I'll vote no, on that. There is just too much weight up front as it is and the GT500 is a big step in the wrong direction. Or has Ford published their front/rear weight bias figures and they waved a magic wand and got it under 53/47

Exactly! This whole thing is a HP/Weight ratio and then consider all the various handling enhancements. The redeye is a straight line car. The 500 will do both.

Right on! But here they come out of the swamps with their jalopy's to throw shade at something they'll never have. I wouldn't feed this.
Don’t get carried away with yourself there big boy.

I think Ford waited until the 755 LT5 to come out and the upped it. I am sure if it would have come out sooner it would have been around 740hp and then in the next year it would have gone to 760.

Ford was smart. It will be the top dog now for a bit until everyone catches up.
Ford did something very similar when G.M. released their LT1 (455hp). They bumped the horsepower in their Coyote engine to 460hp.

Here's a new hair in the in the pie one thing that will absolutely hurt GT500 sales is Ford's new haphazard and understandable way they are filling special orders. If it takes 5 or 6 months to fill orders I can see a lot of cancellations.
Damn Hair Pie!!

All you guys comparing the GT500 with putting a whipple on a Mustang GT and adding E85 make no sense.
This is a stock car, with warranty, with a DTC, suspension, brakes, and other mods out of the factory.
Sure you can do all that and go through rounds of dyno tunes and possible issues. Let's not even talk about the problem of road tracking an e85 car(you have to find fuel).
This is a stock car, sure it will cost some but that is a price for it. You can't compare to a modded car with no warranty.
Get a v6 mustang and mod it until it has 800HP, done, right :) ?

I'm not saying your GT or v6 won't be faster, I'm just stating that it's not a comparison.

The only reason I mentioned a FI GT350 is they are dipping into 45k-48kish used prices and the Voodoo engine is truely something special.

That and the whole ADM thing pisses me off but thats for another day.

I guess there really are a zillion people who don't understand that torque is the actual motive force and HP is just an expression of work per unit of time. I could see Ford pulling an HPO out of the hat with very, very carefully balanced crank, Ti cryo-forged rods and exotic slipper pistons. That takes care of the ability to spin the assembly say another 700-1000 rpm higher than the standard engine. The next trick is can they get cams and valves to work well enough to get good charge and burn.

Then again, anything much over 500HP in a street car (hell 300HP) is flirting with pointless excess.
