Huh? The Z06 has 57 less hp than a Hellcat and traps 3-4 more mph. The Hellcat traps 124-125 mph, give or take, and the Z06 is almost 130 mph (don't remember the exact mph off the top of my head). That 1,000 lbs really hurts the Hellcat. The GT500 will be 3,920/4,000 lbs (track pack/ standard) and trap around 130-132 mph in the 1/4 mile. The standard GT500 will trap 1 or 2 mph more than the track pack because of the extra aero work on the track pack car.

Heck, even the 797 hp Redeye Hellcat widebody only trapped 125 mph per Car and Driver. It's over 4,500 lbs.
We dont know what the new gt500 traps.

My point in bringing up the hellcat is the superior ZF a8 transmission compared to the a8 transmission made by GM. If the DCT ford uses is superior (i mean it must be since they use a DCT in the Ford GT, and they ditched the a10), then the GT500 may be close to the ZR1.

"The standard GT500 will trap 1 or 2 mph more than the track pack because of the extra aero work on the track pack car....."""""
They should really call it, "the extra Hero work"

Isnt the Red Eye more powerful? I'd like to see the two face head to head, unless Ford specifically means around a track and not a straight line.
Yes by 37 more HP. But it's heavier. Probably a lot heavier. It'll be a heck of stock vs stock quarter mile contest. If RE takes the hole with it's TQ...it'll be hard to catch. Dodge's A8 is pretty damn good.

can't wait to hurt feelings of one of these with my whipple 5.0

I gotta say, I'm disappointing the first number doesn't start with an 8. It's really a shame.

I think Ford waited until the 755 LT5 to come out and the upped it. I am sure if it would have come out sooner it would have been around 740hp and then in the next year it would have gone to 760.

Ford was smart. It will be the top dog now for a bit until everyone catches up.

Not too impressive with 760hp. Maybe they will do a KR version and give it 850hp.:lipssealed::facepalm:

Z28 was dropped because Chevy felt it was an antiquated naming scheme.

Huh? Says who? Its a trim level not a name. And 1LE ZL1 ZR1 SS CTS-V ATS-V STS-V XLR-V Z06 Just to name a few are antiquated?

Please show articles or info from GM to back up thats why GM stopped using Z28.

Im about 99% sure it died with the 5th gen Camaro as the last special trim level for that generation before moving to the 6th Gen Camaro in 2016.

You can always mod a cheaper car. But it's still a cheap car with mods.

Right on! But here they come out of the swamps with their jalopy's to throw shade at something they'll never have. I wouldn't feed this.

Honestly unless the DCT reviews prove to be absolutely stunning it rather put a whipple on a GT350 and feed it E85 and call it a day for less money too!

Plus that Voodoo sound cannot be beat period!

Here's a new hair in the in the pie one thing that will absolutely hurt GT500 sales is Ford's new haphazard and understandable way they are filling special orders. If it takes 5 or 6 months to fill orders I can see a lot of cancellations.
