A few pix I shot of the GT500 that was on display at the grand opening of the Mustang Owners Museum in Concord NC last week. The new Twister Orange is indeed a few tads darker than Orange Fury, especially in overcast conditions. It's also (didn't know that yet) a flat color, not a metallic/pearl.

It would be REALLY NICE if Flat rock assembly line workers would put the same attention to detail and assembly into production cars like these “show” cars.

Absolutely no reason why they can’t.

You know, with these really good photos, well lit, the orange showing as it should, I'm starting to kind of like the red calipers - it's in the same area of the spectrum, and it kind of gives it some extra dimension (and certainly pulls you into the wheel area which is spectcaular with the carbon option).

Don't disagree with your reasoning but from a logistics standpoint it is certainly not feasible for every mass production Mustang to be delivered to the "Quality Control Room" and then checked out extensively for body panel gaps and fits, paint, interior fit and finish, etc. let alone what the exorbitant cost would be for such a process for thousands of Mustangs assembled every year.

Unfortunately only the Ford family, senior Ford execs, Ford show cars and VIP cars get to attend the QCR for a total quality control inspection process with the rest of the mass production Mustangs subject to whatever happens on the FR assembly line and as well whatever happens at the nearby Mod Shop where the rear CF wings, CF wheels and rear seat delete process takes place.

Could Ford up their game overall when it comes to the fit and finish of our Mustangs, absolutely but personally I don't see the current process changing anytime soon.

re: Fit and Finish

That's one thing I've always been impressed by with Vipers, since the production is so low, they really go through a lot of very detailed inspection, QC, lots of hand finished details, etc., that's why I think I'd take a [modern] Viper over a Corvette, even a ZR1, just because it feels much more like an exotic in terms of the build process vs. what still feels like a assembly line product.

I want a 2017 Viper ACR. I think they look very nice.
