Yea I was kinda confused about new from the ground up and then evolutionary instead of revolutionary. Excited to see what comes either way since I'm going to wait it out and not bite on the refresh.

I wouldn't be shocked to see something like this end up on the front axle of the S650. With Ford supposedly dumping a ton of money into EV tech, and with sales dropping due to FWD/AWD alternatives on the market, they'd be crazy not to at least provide the option.

I'd have to wait an extra year or two to save up for the option (not really knowing what it would cost), but it would be absolutely worth it for anyone in a snow state.

Hybrid Engine Choices Ford will have in 2020 (according to leaked oil specs):

2.0L HEV Atkin
2.5L HEV Atkin
3.0L GTDI HEV
3.3L PFDI HEV

My choice would be the 3.3L. ...throw back to the old '80's B-code 200ci 3.3L V6 engine

That's a disgrace to the Mustang name.

The 3.0 Turbo makes 400hp/400 torque in Lincoln cars right now. Those Atkin won’t be in a mustang due to the power they Make. The 3.3 makes ~300 hp in the F150. It’s a cyclone like the v6 mustangs

Torquey electric motor on top of a torquey V8??? I'd rather have my old torqueless but high revving 4.0L S65 V8 assisted by electric motors than the Coyote.

Would anyone be interested on a Hybrid 5.0L?

I'd be interested in being able to buy much lower priced streetable Mustang 5.0 with absolute minimal interior and just the most basic suspension, brake, and cooling setup for $25K. Then I can make that into a race car. :)

I don't need a hybrid 5.0. At that point, I'm moving on to less expensive cars as that'd get ridiculous in price and long-term ownership.

That would be tempting but to be honest maybe if used in a special edition model (GT500, Cobra, Mach 1). The fun of having a v8 is modding it and modding a hybrid might not be very feasible. I think the gt should stay realitivly simple.

Potentially, yes, depending on how it's integrated.

Our new friend Farruko also intimated that we'd see a hybrid V8, but not before S650/next-gen, so its good to hear it from you.

Topnotch, do you still think it'll be a '21MY? I've read elsewhere that the next-gen Mustang will be based on the CD6 platform (a platform that, if rumour is true, is VERY flexible and the RWD Explorer will be the first example on sale).

'21MY or '22MY
CD6 is the platform
S650 is the program

Shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, but no interest here either.

Too many negatives (weight, complexity, room, reduced driver involvement) that I can't justify putting up with to get an increase in the one aspect of vehicle performance that I'm not much interested in.
