On my local track there is a M2 Competition that even in stock form was seconds faster than my PP1 2017 GT . Now with slicks and suspension is over 6 seconds faster than me.
If I was to get rid of the Mustang I would go for one of these or a Corvette. Really impressive car and the design is :like: IMO.

Driver mod is the #1 determining factor of track lap times lol
The truest $#*! ever said.

Ohhhhhhh, fun thread!

2018 AMG C63 bi-turbo...he slid up beside me on the freeway (about 70mph) and blipped the throttle, game on šŸ˜

i dropped to 4th just to see what he had, and he consequently jumped out hard on me and I couldnā€™t QUITE reel him in before traffic slowed us down.

second run...he sensed impending doom and rolled up his windows for maximum effect, but it didnā€™t matter as I went to third this time and walked him to an undisclosed velocity before traffic became an issue again.

he then followed me to my exit and we chatted at the light...his exact words were ā€œhow the f#ck did a dam mustang outrun meā€?

...nice guy, but was COMPLETELY unaware of the gt350

The older m4 is a good match for an A10 GT, the new pig nose is 456hp, should be a bit faster.

What does that mean though? If you swap cars with him it could be the same result. Driver mod is the #1 determining factor of track lap times lol
We did test with Pro driver both cars 2 second difference on same tires on a 2 km track.

Billy1,

I have all total, including what I paid for my 2018 GT Premium, wheels, tires, and forced induction, about 48K.

Let see, 80K+ for a beemer or 48K for much a faster supercharged GT . . . . . .

I kind of agree with that logic as I did the same with my GT. But I still wouldn't compare it to a 80k+ beemer or a 80k+ GT500. There's obviously a reason people are willing to pay those prices for those cars and not for a Mustang GT.

Because of expensive badging? :giggle:
I'm sure that could be true for some people. They are willing to pay more to be able to say I have this car or that car.

I rag on BMW owners just because of the douche bags most are. BMW's use to be good cars(my gf likes them) in that their base cars handled/steering feel was better than some competitors up-level(e.g. found this out while shopping for a Lexus IS350 sport & base BMW 328)cars.

Modern BMW's don't have the great steering feel(due to EPS) to ones 10 years ago, and the handling on base cars are too pillow-soft mushy.

The E92 M3 V8 was a great car-so it's not that I don't like BMW-just the people that drive them. lol. I have seen M3/M4 owners looking at my car through the corner of their eyes and would never admit the S550 is better looking/faster and a bargain compared to what it can compete against.

Recently, a guy in a gas station with an Aston Martin coupe($200k) came over to my car to comment how nicely designed the "new Mustangs are". Now that I can respect, coming from a fellow car enthusiast.

Beetle6986,

I wasn't comparing my GT to an M4 on any level other than gapping the M4.

My GT was simply quite a bit faster for less money.

A GT is a pretty good bargain for Straight line performance and a stock A10 GT will run with a stock M3. However, it takes a lot of mods for a GT to keep up with a simple bolt on M3 and it seems like all of the M3s around here are FBO. For about $2,000 a M3 becomes a 600 whp car that breaks into the 10s. Without FI, I wouldn't be able to keep up with them.

Listen, lie to us all you want. At some point though, you're going to have to stop lying to yourself :cwl:
I thought it was BS too. Until I ran across a few FBO cars trapping 130 mph at the drags.

True. People downplay whatā€™s really done to
Their cars sometimes, but from what Iā€™ve read these S55 engines make 600ish at the tires with just bolt ons and a tune.

M3s and M4s move. My friends stock A10 with seats removed and E30 was side by side with a stock M4 with the M4 pulling quick. (Id post video but idk if allowed) If there was more room the A10 would of definitely lost. And yeah with bolt ons, a lot of FI cars with any kind of real displacement are going to leave even an FBO E85 A10. They'll out power you in HP and put out nearly 100wtq more than you and wont take 6,000rpms to do it.
