Sorry, but if the price is up to 90k - 100k, I would rather get me a Corvette over mustang. The reason I like mustang because it is cost less than other sport car for v8 hp. there are tons of companies making parts for it and it's cost much less.

No - that price honestly is for idiots. Based on the quarter mile times I would say major idiots.
Half the population are idiots. At least in this country anyway.

Would anyone be willing to pay the 20k markup?
In case it hasn't been said enough:
These markups exist because someone is willing to pay them.

If the cars languished on the lot for several months, the market adjustment would get adjusted downward.
If the car sits long enough - maybe a year with nobody buying it - the markup would go away completely and the dealer might even learn a lesson.
That almost never happens. Someone usually comes along and pays.

Morons ruining it for everyone else. This country runs on that principal.

I walked into a dealer in 2012 to buy a 2013 Boss 302 they had on the floor. ADM $10,000.00. I said “Why is that on there? There isn’t a line out the door for this car.”

After refusing to negotiate to sell it to me for MSRP, I started walking out, and he ran back to me and offered the car for MSRP. I said “The fact you can just remove the ADM instantly , is proof it’s a pathetic business model.” I walked away. For this reason and other terrible financial reasons, , I will never buy a “NEW” car again. (After that, I called a Ford dealer in Maine that had a GHIG Boss 302 on the floor, and said “I’ll buy it today for MSRP”. He said come on up. So I bought it.

Honestly dealerships that have that kind of ADM...I hope they have a hailstorm. Just a cash grab from greedy dealerships who think we need them. Tesla has them freaking out...and it's not because they're EVs. They essentially removed the dealership model. Some states like Texas have dealership empires so imbedded in politics that it's not even a surprise anymore. They need to markup all they can to pay for political "campaigns" through their lobbyist network.

I've had a couple of new Mustangs, and enjoyed them greatly - but I buy them used now. I like letting someone else pay most of the depreciation.

Blaming a dealership for adding an extra markup is like blaming a waitress for accepting a tip. As long as there's more people willing to pay it than there are cars available this will not end. We seem to be in a time that everything is in short supply and when that happens money talks.

Yesterday I called a local dealer to find out about a new Dark Horse that's in its way to the dealership. They said they wanted a non-refundable $5k deposit plus a "market adjustment" of $20k. The price of the Dark Horse would have been $73k and change, but with the adjustment I would have ended up paying over $93k for the car. I thought that was ridiculous. For that money, I could get a Corvette or a Camaro ZL1 1LE or a GT500 (if I could find one).

What do you guys think about these market adjustments for the Dark Horse. Would anyone be willing to pay the 20k markup?
Crazy. I paid $3K over for my 2020 GT350 HEP and was frustrated, but this was during COVID and no cars on lots.

Let the prices go up. Just makes my 2017 more valuable.

Right now I could sell it for what I paid for it.

But I won't. Haha.

I think I would be a GT and use the extra money to build it up.
