I use a blowgun and compressed air, Skwibbs but a leaf blower works almost as well. It would certainly blow out the rotors if you can get the nozzle in there. That part is easier with a blowgun.

If you are trying to avoid the rusty brake calipers, avoid getting the wheels wet with direct spray. If you insist on washing the wheels, save them for last. Many times I won't wash the wheels. instead, blow them out and then give a gentle wipe with a microfiber cloth. If you wash the wheels and get the calipers wet, you have to drive the car right away. If you don't, the rotors rust right up and as time goes on, they get worse. The rust particles and debris will collect all over your wheels and you are back to where you started.

I couldn't wash a car without washing the wheels, Tom and I always do them first. I knew it couldn't be good so that's why I got after the brakes with the air. It does the job nicely.

But I gotta tell ya, the website made me laugh out loud. I wonder if the USAF knows about that outfit? <still laughing>

Thanks for the tip, amigo but I'll stick with my air compressor and blowgun. Takes me maybe seven minutes to dry mine completely with a big MF drying towel and the blowgun. I DO need to find a rubber tip for the fella though before I whack the paint. :-)

Already on my list, that's what I meant by not using a leaf blower.
Leaf blowers are for people who are too cheap or don't know what they are doing.

Now back to the brake issue. I would suggest anyone who crawls around and finds they have a PP-GF40 defective bracket, i suggest that you photograph the stamping and part number sticker and get in touch with your dealership parts manager. Request to have the part in question as installed as listed in your HVBOM (bill of materials) and compare it to the defective bracket part number.

If you have a stamping of PP-GF40, you have a defective polypropylene bracket.

Run it up the flag pole to get it added to the recall list. Don't take no for an answer.

I need to check on my newly built 500 to see what part # is on it.

If yours was a recent build, you should be fine. PA6-GF40 is what you want to see.

I hope, but I never assume anymore. I would like to see so I can either verify the part for everyone or at the very least let everyone know what they are putting on.

Its not a difficult thing to do. Open the car door, pull the drivers seat all the way back. Get your cell phone ready and have a look at the bracket that houses your brake pedal assembly. The materials properly stamp is there as clear as can be. Ive heard that the recent versions have a sticker that say PA6-GF40.

Oh, I know. I'm waiting to get the car back from getting ppf and ceramic. I'm learning to contort after spinal fusion at 42. Lol. Thanks Army.
