Hi buzz-dee,
Thank you so much for explaining the entire process. I have ordered almost all parts (Light switch, Rear fog light, OBDLink MX, downloaded the Forscan lite app and ordered the wiring terminals for the connectors using your two links).

"Not sure which one it was for the c2280B connector" --> Does this mean I need to order different ones than the two I ordered using your two links? I just want to make sure I can start installing right away once I receive the parts I've ordered so far.

Thank you so much.

Tim
hi Tim,

yes you’re right. You also need the terminal for the c2280b connector. I’m not sure if one of those you ordered will fit in that connector. According to our German forum it should be mouser # 1924955-x (the x could be 3, 5 or 7). But take it with a grain of salt and better look that up again, it’s been almost three years since I did that.

the FORScan lite app (iOS) can’t do any programming. I’m using a cheap windows tablet and the FORScan software with extended license.

Any one try do it on 2019 with Digital Cluster ? IPC 720-02-02 is 8AFC-40F0-3F1F - I have change C for 2 ?? Thanks fo
several steps are involved in your project:

you need to get wiring terminals for connectros c205, c2280B and c2280C.

for c205: https://www.te.com/deu-de/product-2098762-3.html?source=header-match

for c2280C: https://eu.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Molex/33012-2022-Loose-Piece?qs=sGAEpiMZZMs7eK6h2EBtKrDPZUGUvv8Sk5Ng7Z0BJqM=

not sure which one it was for the c2280B connector….

1. you need to run a new wire from the light switch connector (C205) pin #2 to the BCM connector (C2280B) pin #8

this wire let's the BCM know when you want to switch on your rear fog light

2. you need to run a new wire from BCM connector (C2280C) pin #25 to your fog light

this wire gets 12V from the BCM and powers your rear fog light.

3. you need to change your BCM's Asbuilt data on the following lines:

726-28-01 xxxx x*xx xxxx Rear Fog Enable Cfg: 0=disabled --> 1=enabled
726-24-01 xxxx xxxx *xxx --> 4=IL norm, WL inhib, BL norm, RFL norm

Those two lines activate the needed circuits inside the BCM.

4. and lastly you have do change the following on the IPC:

720-02-02 xxx* xx Rear Fog Indicator Cfg: 0=disabled --> 2=enabled

this line will make sure that the small amber indicator on the dash turns on when you switch on the rear fog light.
Any one try do it on 2019 with Digital Cluster ? My IPC line 720-02-02 is 8AFC-40F0-3F1F - I have change C for 2 ?? Thanks for info

IS there a rear fog light indicator on 2018+ US models? when I test the gauges in engineering mode nothing is shown

Hi Falk. I have a 2020 Ecoboost and am installing a rear fog light. Is there a rear fog light indicator in the digital cluster? When I do the engineering mode I do not see an indicator for that.
Hey,
I don't want to warm up threads that are a little older, but did you ever find out any solution to that?
I have the digital cluster, too, and want to add the european rear fog light along with the button to my car.

Thank you in advance,
Vagabund

You have solution on forum - point 6

5. Forscan programming of the Body Control Module:

726-28-01 xxxx x*xx xxxx Rear Fog Enable Cfg: 0=disabled --> 1=enabled

726-24-01 xxxx xxxx *xxx Interior Lighting (IL) / White Lighting (WL) / Backlighting LED (BL) / Rear Fog Lamp (RFL) - Circuit DTC (Normal/Inhibited): 5=IL norm, WL inhib, BL norm, RFL inhib --> 4=IL norm, WL inhib, BL norm, RFL norm

6. Forscan programming of the IPC (instrument panel cluster) so that the indicator light is also displayed:

720-02-02 xxx * xx Rear Fog Indicator Cfg: 0 = disabled -> 2 = enabled

Thank you for confirmation bpajak, after reading your post #21 I wasn't sure whether it's working or not.
I understand then, you didn't have a "C" there but "0" instead?

Thank you,
Vagabund
