That ugliness translated into some real track beasts for IMSA racing. Eye of the beholder. The one they show not only doesn't belong in your garage, it shouldn't appear in public.

My nomination for the "What Were They Thinking?" Award is any of those not-really-a-Mustang travesties already mentioned (and unhappily, pictured) in the article.

As in the case of the Monza, many of the deprecated cars become understandably desirable, if set up for racing. I cite the Pinto as an example:

This is the 2nd "muscle car" list I have seen in about a week. My question. When in the history of the world was the Pinto ever considered a muscle car? Also I would absolutely love to have a King Cobra right now

In the late 70's early 80's some of those 4 bangers were with-in 10HP of their V8 counterpart. Also with less weight in the front, they handled better.
