2017 Mustang whipple MT-82 with about 850 to the wheels.

I need some help. I have look for it but can’t find what I’m looking for.
My plan is to run ET Street R bias ply 28-11.50-17 in the rear. What tire pressure are you running cold? any better suggestions?

What size should I run at front on 17’s? what tires are you guys running. Will it matter much is I go with a radial? Also what psi are you running them at?

I run (17") radial tires all the way around! 26"x 10+ rear and 26"x 6 front... (due to 3.15 rear gears). If I could, I'd change the complete rear assembly, including axles! And replace my tires (front and back) with 28" radial rubber on my existing 17" wheels.

PS: On a treated track, 16psi rear and 48psi front!

Wow! 850whp, I'd leave a pile of broken parts all over the track! Hopefully you have the larger rear diff and heavier axles.
I have a buddy who's new motor (1000hp w/NOS) had to be de-tuned for the same reason. He's beefing up his tranny, etc. and changing the rear-end during the off season!?

PS: He's also running bias-ply tires all the way around, and is thinking of going with a new set of radial tires...!?

I'm running 28" M&H DOT bias fronts, 28" Mickey Street R bias in rear. Last outing ran 15 psi rear, 35 psi front (max on sidewall). I'm also Whipple gen 3 stage 2, T56 Magnum XL.

is front bias ply? if so, where did you get the tire from? I only see 4.5" for fronts

Wheels are 17x4.5 and tires are radial 26x6. I purchased the wheels and tires from either Jegs or Summit.

Let the track dictate the pressure you run in the rears. I’ve run as low as 9psi (and still couldn’t get it to hook due to shitty track prep) and as much as 18psi (broke a DSS halfshaft and killed the driveshaft on launch, track was super sticky).
Ideally you’ll run as high a pressure as you can get away with.

I only run national events on treated 1/4 mile tracks, so conditions are pretty predictable. I can get away with 17 or 18 psi in the rear with only minor adjustments over a 4 day period. In the front I've ran between 51 and 54 lbs. But will probably try to push those pressures up early next season depending on how it affects my launch to 60 foot times vs overall ET...
