Planning on moving up from the Paxton to the JTB. Paxton is doing well, but I am on the edge of overspinning it now and would like to use the $1000 buy back before I break it. Transmission is getting built, torque convertor installed as well. I am going to have the OPGs done in the near future, and while they are in there I am going to have them tap the oil pan. I was thinking about the 15% OD ATI, 8 rib conversion, and torque booster from BK. Following Slamdcoop, I have water/meth as I was getting high IATs with the Paxton, and drive in similar environments so I have that already solved. I'll probably pulley it down quite a bit then waste gate it to around 15-16 psi. Hopefully the motor will live for a while. Goal is low 9 second car with the stock motor. Once it goes, I'll get an aluminator or build something close and pull the torque booster off and send it. Anything else I should do? When is a 10 rib required?

Stay away from ATI with the vortech. Guy on IG I follow snapped his crank.. with a Vortech JTB. It's pretty rare for a vortech to snap a crank. I'm going to use my crank pulley from vortech and just pulley down

I have the V7JT. It's oil fed so it won't over spin the blower but I think im gonna upgrade to the JTB down the line.

Regarding ATI, the problems come from incorrect installation. ATI is fine if installed correctly. There are some good discussions around that topic on this forum.

I’ll bet it was a installation error

Why blow the engine before building it. Just get rods and pistons now and not blow it at all

I'm not actually planning on blowing it, just if something goes wrong I'll have a little left in the blower as I am either going to waste gate it or not drive the blower to max rpm.

Ok that makes more sense. You should look into some pistons, maybe rods, head studs and it’s pretty solid for anything under 1100hp

I was thinking limit PSI to around 900-950 RWHP to keep it safeish until I am ready for bigger and better things.

At 900-950 on a stock engine you are on the high side of what it can handle and it will not hold up long term. I would start building a new shortblock now
