GT350R did win 1st place in the under $180K class. I was set to drive a 570S this past weekend to see how good it is but they had to sub it out due to engine issues. Got stuck with a Huracán in it's place, I was still happy :)

I should clarify...
How? You can't even order that package yet, let alone drive a SS with the option, can you?
The SS is already a pretty stout car. Giving it even more capability, I can see why people praise it.

F street? the GT350 is A street that doesnt sound right.

2016 SS is F Street at the moment. The SS 1LE Pack is most likely going to go into A Street.

Words like these are only going to encourage the dealers to stick with their ADMs even more.

Doubt the 1LE is headed for AS. The SS in FS already uses a 275/285 set up while the previous 1LE is permitted its 305's.

The 2017 1LE's advantage is specifically tires. This advantage is lost in FS because 275/285 is the standard on the GT, SS and many others.

Also, I wouldn't want to compete in AS at the 1LE's current PtW ratio. It isn't a deciding factor but it would be a terrible disadvantage.

The 1LE is FS bound in which it will likely do very well.

So much wrong with this post starting with tire size. The tire to have in Street class is the RE71-R which now comes in a 305 x 19 which would be killer on the 17 1LE which is better than the previous generation which has won FS in the past. Also the new SS has shown it is also competitive on smaller rims. The 1LE will probably wind up in AS with the GT350.

No. It. Is. NOT. The SCCA board has already discussed it and it is not eligible for FS. The only thing that needs to be decided is if it goes to AS or BS.

If it is AS bound, it will be destroyed.

The '16 SS's use a 275/285 and it will pretty much equal out the 1LE advantage. Essentially, the SS in FS is equipped with better tire. I highly doubt the 1LE can put enough time on an SS w/ 275/285's to be competitive in AS.

The 1LE isn't fit for AS, regardless what tire it's allowed to use.

I like to disassemble things.
Audi is a beast. The next GT500 sure has its work cut out for it.

Yup... the R8 V10+ can haul big time (include the Huracan here as well). I also give double credit to the BDC winner, the beautiful 570S. That's a RWD that can hit basically near mid-10s. Amazing the way it can lay power down whether on the straights or in the curves.

AWD is a HUGE advantage. Buddy had a 911 C4S....'07 model (355HP/295TQ) and he could hang and/or beat much higher HP cars in the "stoplight grand prix". Granted, once the higher HP RWD car hooked-up, it was bye-bye.

If and when the "track key - less" from FP gets here I'm sure high 11's are possible. Even though that's not its main purpose .
