I would probably bring in the whole car . I'm not very experienced yet when it comes to all this
Astronomically high if I had to guess I’d say $10,000 to $15,000 If you can find someone that will do it. Your average everyday Shop is not experienced enough to tackle a rebuild on this type of engine. they would just order you an engine. if you could find an engine then you could have it installed for $2,500ish

You can get to about 750-800 safely with a Gen3R and 93/Boostane @ 19.5-20.5° of spark advance.

Like everyone has said, a blower can get you into the 800s with e85. 900+ is pushing it on a blower car.

Generally speaking, turbos will be more efficient and you'll be able to make more power through the motor at the same boost. I've ran up to 20 psi through my stock motor which is over 1000 based on my dragy times and performance vs cars of a similar power level.

I was talking to my shop this morn about this very topic. He recommends that I go Gen 3 block w/Boss crank. Re-use the Gen 2 heads and cams. The shop has built a twin-turbo S197 w/a Gen 3 that's making 1k h/p at the fly-wheel w/stock heads.

If it was me I would purchase a gen3 shortblock from Ford for $1800 then install Mahle piston kit $850. That’s all you need but if you want then get hbeam rods $750. $3400 put stock gen2 heads on it and your good

2.9 Whipple, 16psi and E85. Stock Gen 2 block with only OPG and CS and stock MT82 as well. Just did 900whp and 710TQ on a dynojet SAE correction. That particular dyno is a little happy but I'll know for sure in my MPH at the track. Last year i was on 15psi and trapped 142mph. We have horrible DA where I live, 3900 on average. Not sure how long the engine is going to live at this power level but so far so good. Also still on the 6 rib pulley setup...lol

X2. If your going to go forced induction, do it! If not, stop asking the same questions over and over. Yes, you can make over 800hp. But if its your daily driver, I'd advise against it. I have a 2016 that makes quite a bit of power. Its not my daily driver, if I blew the rods out of the side of the block tomorrow it wouldn't be the end of the world.

If this is your only car, keep the boost low and enjoy 650rwhp.
Agreed. Anything over 600 rwhp on a stock block is a gamble on when something will break!

How many miles have you run on this setup ? How many 1/4 passes at WOT have you run on this setup?

On the 900whp setup I've ran zero passes and zero WOT pulls besides the dyno. Tracks are all closed because of Covid bullshit. On the 3.2 pulley and 870whp I've ran about 15 passes at the track and 10 or so WOT pulls on the street. All shifting at 8000-8200rpm. At 740-760whp I have about 200+ roll races and track passes.

Car has been making 740-800whp going on 3 years now and 35,000 miles. Your 600whp danger limit is extremely consertive. 700-750 would be my consertive. Car will live a very long life at that power level depending on maintenance and driver skill/behavior.

600whp is conservative for a gen1. For a gen2/3 anything 700’s is conservative 800’s is average and 900’s is when you get ready for something to break. You still may never break it. If it is tuned and maintained correctly 800’s is a very safe daily driver
