At 16, his Dad bought Dale a '69 Z/28 Camaro.
Dale had the engine built up for max HP.
@ 16 years and 2 months, Dale lost his license by getting caught for
driving said Camaro 135 mph in a 20 mph zone.

Yea, he was famous to us; an example of what not to do.....................

West Aurora High School in Aurora, IL. We had a few big league athletes, NFL, MLB, etc. But the most famous for anyone in the Chicago area would be Tom Skilling. Everyone here knows him. His brother, Jeff Skilling also went there- you all may remember him as the CEO of Enron.

The two most famous alumni are David Hasselhoff (actor) and Jeff Hornacek (NBA player and head coach).

Too funny first post is a fellow LTHS alumni. And named the same 2 I was gonna name, plus Tricia O'Kelley actress. Class of 1986 here.

Quite true. The character Pesci played in Goodfellas was my cousin Tommy in reality.
Pretty much as it happened other than naming J. Gotti as the one who whacked Tommy.

Another good book on it is The Lufthansa heist by Henry Hill.

Not HS but when I was in the 7th grade, a girl named Tammy John transferred to our school and she sat next to me in French class. I think she was my first crush. She didn't talk to anyone. A friend told me that her father was a baseball athelete...

She left a few months later because her dad got a surgery that made him eligible to pitch again. Her brother, Tommy Jr. was in my sister's class in elem.

As for hs, my best friend in HS went to go work for toyota after his masters in engineering. While undergrad at UPenn, he designed a regenerative braking system for the UPenn's solar racer (for the sunrace 2000). Later he wrote to me from Japan telling me that he was working on a braking system for a completely new type of a car called a prius.

While grad student at NYU, I TA'ed a class that had Robin William's son (it was 300+ students).

Oh, and a friend from HS named Cliff Chiang authored wonderwoman comics for DC Comics. He was the cover illustrator and Peter did other work. I didn't think much of it until I told a coworker who goes to comic cons all over the country and he said, "dude, he's a bit of a big deal..."

And I always forget this. Simon Sinek, supposedly a famous motivational speaker and author, took trig with me and gave me rides home when I had my knee surgery. I also didn't think much of it until the principal of my current school quoted a Simin Sinek at graduation.
