Picked up 17 GT350 AG, black roof and stripes few hours ago. 222 miles later:
Used Trakktape but didn't cover front fenders far enough back so a few bugs to clean but overall worked great. If you use it go at least halfway back over the wheel wells. Despite probably not being necessary, put the passenger side FP oil separator on right away as well.
Got 100,000 mile ESP thru my dealer for $1400 with $200 deductible just in case on the voodoo.
Stopped for a cup of coffee and to gas up halfway through. Got home and hadn't even touched the coffee!
Just a regular old car below 4k albeit a pretty one. Get groceries, take the kids to school, yawn. Totally different animal above that as you all know. School marm by day, lap dancer by night but I'm only guessing on the latter as no personal experience. Amazing how much there is above 4k and it really does it with ease, not straining at all.
Broke it in hard, lots of variation and up to 7200 rpm pulls in first 100 miles. From all I hear including my dealer and older guy salesman best way to do it. Interested to see what oil consumption will be down the road.
Oil temp 180-190 all the time, pressure 90 psi and steady as a rock.
No fun in traffic. She's made for the open road and I can only presume track.
Although LEO's will STH, here way up in northern Mexico lots of clear road and remarkably stable and easy to get to 140mph with lots left in 5th. Did not notice any significant tramlining.
No weird noises. Even the rear view mirror is fine, no shaking, but admit I'm mostly looking out the windshield for deer and other critters.
Shifts a little tricky 2nd to 3rd at high revs as easy to go to 5th. Also from 4th to 5th sometimes easy to hit 3rd so I can see how that guy blew his transmission on the track. Might opt for MGW shifter down the road especially if starts to rattle, etc. Not sure I need the Steeda spring as clutch feels perfectly smooth to me. Must have stronger legs than some out there. Try skinning up and skiing down a few times and save a couple bucks.
Zero complaints on the audio, seems absolutely fine, but your talking to a guy who grew up with a transistor radio. On second thought, only one...it should automatically turn off in sport mode. I might be plagiarizing that thought.
Never had Recaros before nor sat in them. 6'1" 200 lbs, comfortable as all get out. Those skinny ass 160 pounders out there must swim in them.
Had to read the fricken manual to figure out how to get it in reverse. Got a lot more reading to do. Will be fun.
Topped off the tank back home. Older woman in handicapped van rolled slowly by and gave a smile and a thumbs up. Nice but where the hell was the lap dancer?
Gotta sign up for track attack this summer and take my son.
Thanks to all you knowledgeable members out there for your input through this forum past 2 1/2 years which has been very helpful and fun to share in, even the cranky ass ones. Makes me laugh.
Don't worry, won't bore you by carrying on this thread as I ain't interesting enough but will follow others.
