Okay check the strip same possibility. The hyperflash indicates the circuit is incomplete. Usually it's the bulb or in this case the led.Their LED strips not bulbs in the rear tail lights.

You are correct, which is why I mentioned to see if the left side can be plugged into the right side (or vice versa, the right to the left) and see if the same issue occurs, if it does then it would answer the pending question.Okay check the strip same possibility. I removed tail lights. Ford did not have a better idea this time. 1 tail light has a male plug and the other female it will not interchange. I checked the hazard and on the right side the outer tri bar will not light. Does this mean my tail light is shot? You are correct, which is why I mentioned to see if the left side can be plugged into the right side (or vice versa, the right to the left) and see if the same issue occurs, if it does then it would answer the pending question.
If you resign yourself to buying a new tail led assembly, see if you can get access to the board. It might be as simple as a burned out resistor or a broken trace.I removed tail lights. This looks like the tail light is the issue it seems, and without cracking it open there is no way to access the board. Looks like you more than likely need a replacement. I dont know if the dealership could test the unit, but I have a feeling your going to be back at the same point.I removed tail lights. I would contact either your dealership or ford directly, maybe they can do something about it, If you have a '15 mustang, I know its 7.5yrs but still. At this point I am not in a hurry to get them, I can wait for a price drop
