Not sure if you've though about it but if it's going on a stock turbo car than either way no matter the diameter it's going to have to reduce down to the inlet (2.25" I believe?) That big may also give issues with iat sensor readings and pull less vacuum on the pcv hose (not entirely sure) just food for thought. Anyway you can always just go to an exhaust or fab shop and have a custom one made if you buy the fittings.

I think the mishimoto starts at 3.5 and necks down

You are correct. I have the mishimoto and it has a 3.5 aluminum pipe and about halfway down you connect a silicone hose that gradually necks down to the stock turbo inlet.

Thank u.... Actually going to go with this one after reading up on it.
Per Adam at tune plus anything over 3" is not good for the car or optimal, the guy knows a thing or 2 about the platform

It's an awesome intake. I think it's the best looking one, be prepared for a lot of whooshing and turbo noise

That's not what he said. He just said that it could result in some low rpm torque loss. The mishimoto necks down with the silicone connectors. It might reduce low rpm torque a little bit but I also think it added some power up top

MAP did some R&D and found that 3" was optimal and 3.5" either didnt make a difference or there was less pressure.

I could of sworn he said he didn't recommend it, but I could be wrong because I don't know which post it was

There's a video on YouTube where a guy did a mmr fender well intake on his EB and then the Mishimoto oh his dad EB.... He said the mishimoto kept IAT significantly cooler. Probably main reason I'll be going with that one and the look when I get my tax return

Turbo everything
Tons of misinformation in this thread. For turbo applications you can never go too big on the inlet. The best is no inlet, and a velocity stack, but that is not practical for anything other than a race car. So the point becomes, what is sufficient, honestly for the stock turbo car. 2.25" the entire inlet would not be restrictive, and be fine. We use 2.5" inlets on 750WHP BMW's with minimal Vacuum measured in the inlet (the more vacuum, the more restrictive it is). Basically its about looks after 2.5" on these cars (unless you are shooting for 600+WHP). If you like the huge inlet look go with 3.5", but its not going to help or hurt you in anyway.

our air intake will be released soon
for stock turbo and big turbo applications

intake tubing is 4" and you'll have powder coat color options as well as if you want to run open air filter element or sealed air box
