Sigh, I hear y’all. I suppose it’s time for four new tires.

Michelin PS4S all around for $1600 or Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R for $1400? (I can get $150 off a set of PS4S at Costco or 25% off the S3R because I’m a USAA member.)

PSS are what the 350s were wearing @ Track Attack. Never once felt the car get loose and the track was wet in the AM. Once my SC2's go I will be running PSS's.

I can tell you right now it's not a good mix, 4S and PSS. Next set will be all 4S or Cup2.
I meant the PSS for all four wheels, not mixed. They're the only other ones that came in the right size for the GT350. While the 4S may be a better tire, they don't come in the sizes fo the standard GT350.

If you have the money for 20" wheels, then there are a lot of great 295/30 and 305/30 combos for you to try. Same overall diameter as your OE tires. Plus, a good forged 20" wheel is still substantially lighter than your OE 19" wheels so it's a win-win.

That's what I saw also, and will go PSS's when my SC2's wear out.

Supercar 3Rs are pretty good. That's what I'd do.

I’ve been caught in the rain on my SC2’s a couple times and they aren’t nearly as bad as I expected. On one occasion I was purposely driving like a 16-yr-old who just got his license and watched Fast & Furious for the first time just to see when/how the tires would give up grip. I’m my opinion they felt very controlled.

I just got a set of Falken 660’s mounted today for my Apex track wheels so I’m curious to see how they compare.

I ran the 55th Mustang Anniversary at the Roval/Charlotte MS in PSS’s in the pouring rain and did just fine. I ran AMP in the pouring rain with them and ran just fine. Now I run PS4/front and PSS/rear and run just fine. Is it the most ideal? No! But just getting tires, cartridge oil filters, and parts in general for the GT350 are super tough now.

IIRC supercar 3Rs have really short tread life, like 100 rating or something whereas Cup 2s are around 200. 4S and PSS are closer to 300 tread life. I would consider the Supercar 3s, but not the 3Rs. I think the Supercar 3s have around 200 tread wear rating like the Cup 2s.

Really I prefer to be closer to a 300 tread wear rating, because tires are expensive and I hate to replace them too frequently.

A set of gumball tires is only 3% of car purchase cost.

Thats impossible, running the PSS's means your car handles like a shopping cart!!! According to some people on this post. :D

3% that you have to spend multiple times a year if you buy tires with 200 tread life or lower and drive the car a decent amount + go to the track a couple times. I only drove my GT350 about 10,000 miles a year and owned it for 4 1/2 years. I also had winter tires that I used on dry days ~November-April or so. I think I had to replace the PSS tires 3 times in 4 1/2 years.

And it's about 6% of what I spent on the Mustang I own now. I'm not going to argue that good tires are important, but there's a point of diminishing returns where the cost also gets a lot higher.

Mixing on a rear wheel drive car that’s meant to go straight is normal. For example Mickeys in the rear and Nittos up front. The Reality is if you’re road racing it’s not the best Though. Keep to the same tire. Cup2 or Toyo RRR8’s.

55th or the 50th?

The Cup 2 FP tires are 200. The Cup 2 (R version) is 100. The 3Rs are similar to the Cup 2 R version, soft sticky and fast but, they are more of a track tire (hence the "R")
