Yes, sorry. That was a late night post. My prior car had spent 3 of the first 4 months I owned it at the dealership and this brought back memories.

Were there any signs something was off before the failure? This has me thinking I should get an extension past the 5/60 powertrain warranty.

They did on mine because it was full of fuel ... to the point the oil level was high.

Good thing I checked the oil this morning. Sure enough, 2 quarts low. Called the Service Advisor just to verify what they put in, and he was rather surprised the tech didn't check it.

& boy is that dipstick in a crappy location.
Not an excuse but I wonder if they are still thinking 15-17 on the oil level?

So, after verifying things seem to be up to snuff, I did end up with the extended warranty. I guess that means I can keep it a little longer. ;-)

I'm also taking it on a 500 mile road trip this weekend, so wish me luck!

As soon as I read this I checked my oil change invoice.
it says "8 EM105631 5W20MOB"

does this mean they put 8 quart? I have been having ticking issues just after the oil change.

Check your dipstick!!!! You will see right away if the level is wrong.

Am I the only one who always check the oil level especially after a oil change done in a busy garage? Errors happens and oil is so important why not give a quick look at the level?

Well, I'm over 1000 miles now. Most of that was racked up on a road trip to Oklahoma. So far so good! :)
