Micro2 fuse tap not fitting in kick panel fuse slots of a 2019

I am trying to hardwire my radar by tapping a fuse (was going to use the heated steering wheel one) in the block behind the passenger side kick panel. The legs of the one I have are not quite long enough. Is there a particular one you guys have had luck with? if you have a link to one please share

I tapped into the mirror for the radar detector, but fuse 23 when I added the subwoofer amplifier.

Tapping the mirror wires from behind with a MirrorTap or similar cable takes seconds, and it's fully reversible. Buy the regular size, not the small ones (too loose). They require persuasion, but they go in, and won't ever back out alone. The only 2 lower wires are the ones you need. With the mirror connector in place, the leftmost wire is the positive, and the only other wire below (with a space between them) is the negative. Hope this helps.

I bought these fuse taps from Amazon and they would not fit, fuse tap is too thick and will not fully seat in the fuse slot. I returned them and bought a pack from a local parts store which worked.

Thanks for the feedback and the mirror tap advice. The mirror tap is actually how I have it hooked up currently. I just received the new concealed display for the V1G2 and that has to connect through their hardwire kit to talk to the V1. I don't think it does bluetooth, but I am running JBV1 anyway so bluetooth is out either way.

@m3incorp Those are the exact same taps I am trying. Did you have to modify them some to get them to fit? It's not the easiest spot to work in.

I have read some having luck with the ones o'reilly sells, the ones I saw were 'Littlefuse' brand. Will try those and the ones @el-guapin are suggesting.

I ended up having to buy two different packs because the first one didn't fit...got lucky with second ones and they fitted.

Fuse #23 is actually the fuse I used for my aftermarket amplifier, remote turn on. I misspoke above where I wrote #27.

#2 is another option and I believe #26 is ACC power

Cool, thanks for the advice! will use 23 also, just got to get that sucker to fit now!

Do you know what leg of that fuse is main one ? I know those taps are supposed to go in a certain way

The fuse you pull out from the panel will go into slot 2 (see pic).
If you have a hard time getting the fuse tap into the panel, try to file the ends SLIGHTLY.

It’s not very noticeable but the fuse tap edges appear a little more rounded compared to actual micro2 fuse. I was able to install the fuse tap with minimal force after filing the fuse tap ends slightly.

I used the Bussmann one successfully, I think they call this fuse type ATR 2 instead of Micro2, but I can't quite remember. I wired up my dash cam forever ago off one of the 10 amp fuses, still works fine.
