So you want $100 less than brand new? Good luck.

What does a set of Mach 1 HP spec sc2’s cost when you go on tirerack?
If you’re not interested in this particular set there’s not much of a reason for you to post in this thread

I’d be interested if you were being realistic. New Cup 2’s are $410 ea, so you do the math. I have bought 10 sets of tires off the forums for $1100. I’m always stocking up.

I used tirerack as a reference. I know there are different types of sport cups so perhaps I made a mistake but I’ve never seen such a price disparity when shopping for tires between tirerack and discount tire, provided that we are talking about the same tires. This is what I found before I posted my thread. Are these the same sport cups? I know the Mach 1 uses the stickier of the sport cups, not the gt350 FP cup 2’s

Ford ordered better/special Cup 2's for the Mach1? I don't think so...

The Mach 1 uses the same tire. I don’t know why you see those prices, I don’t see the model number. Maybe you are choosing the “connect” model, which has a chip to talk to an app on your phone. Here’s the price I get for both sizes. You can see the model in my screen shot.

Then you would be wrong.
Per Billy Johnson, the Mach 1 HP uses a different compound sport cup than the gt350 FP cup 2’s. The Mach 1 uses a stickier more track focused version of the tire. I have a suspicion that the tires being shown on discount tire are the gt350 FP model which are more of the “street version” of the sport cup.

So I just looked up the factory tires on Discount Tire’s website for the 2021 Mach 1 and this is what they showed. So there is no difference. So how do you explain that?

I don’t have an explanation for that but I can tell you that I trust Billy Johnson’s word regarding sport cups more than discount tire. There is a difference between the gt350 FP sport cup and the Mach 1 HP sport cup. Which ones are coming up on discount tire, I don’t know. I went on tirerack, searched for the tires that I have and came up with a price. If I can find evidence that the tires you keep posting are in fact the same tires that come on the Mach 1 I will obviously adjust my expectations as to what these are worth. As I said earlier, I have not encountered that big of a price disparity between the two sites for the same tire in my experience which leads me to believe they are different part numbers, possibly with one being the gt350 FP and the other being the compound used on the Mach 1.

Tires sometimes have regional pricing and availability it seems. Not certain that’s what is happening but possible.

the Mach one uses same compound as the 350R, and same sizes. The fp versions were 35 series and for the non R 2019 and 2020 cars.

Take a look at this picture. Do you have this FP on your tires. When I was at the GT500 Track Tour last summer this it what Ford identifies as the special tire designed for the GT500. I took a picture of what they were talking about and the display board indicating it in writing, time G circled in RED. Now I don’t know if the Mach 1 had “FP” designated tires but take a look at your tires, do you have this FP?
