i currently have bf Goodrich g-force comp 2s amd they are a lil sketchy when cold. Looking at upgrading to one of the above mentioned tires, currently 275/40R19 on a 10” rim. Looking for straight line performance mostly with decent wet traction! 2019 mustang GT

Just got some Nitto NT05s on my car. Scored a SVE wheel package for under 1500 shipped to me ready to bolt on. Too hard to pass up when its 305 rears and 255 fronts. 20x10/20×8.5 wheels.

The Nittos are wayyyy better than the trash PZeros thats for damn sure. I may have to play with the tire pressure more but I love em so far!

just checked pmc tire and wow that is cheap! and just looking for the best streetable tire for digs off lines and rolling first gear pulls in the city! dont like the spinning to much lol and ive been leaning toward nt05s

No complaints about my NT05s so far. Itll be on studded snowtires and factory wheels come winter again...... Fuuuuuck I hate North Dakota winters. Im in Grand Forks pretty close to Cananananananananada. LOL.

Those are all different categories, not really comparable. But out of those, the 888Rs are by far the best since they are an R compound vs the rest being street tires with 200+ UTQG

nt05 or nt05R id go with either, i can get the R cheaper anyway, more looking at the best streetable tire for not slipping in the city, and yeah im in winnipeg, due north hahah shes gettin parked for winter and the cobalt is comin out lmao

I got the same except in 19x11 x 19x10 and I've been unable to break them loose other than a chirp from first to second. With the P-zero summers on my suspension setup, that shift would kick the ass end of my car all over the road. I would say to the OP that for straight line and street driving, the performance to price ratio of the R888R and MP4S arent nearly as good as the NT05

All seasons are worthless its like wearing shorts in the winter and a jacket at the beach.

Run the stickiest tire you can afford and snowtires in the winter.

Im anxious to put studded nokians on this winter too.

The R888R has unbelievably good grip in the dry once they're up to temp. The NT05 doesn't have as much outright grip as the R888R but it's better for daily usage (less NVH and more comfort). Subjectively though, the PS4S has the best driving feel of all three (IMHO). Although it doesn't have the straight line acceleration grip of the NT05 or the R888R, it gives you better traction when accelerating out of corners (read: less tail happy). In the wet, the PS4S will thoroughly trump the other two tires. The R888R will try to kill you in the wet if you even think of touching the accelerator pedal.

I've always used the best money can buy when it comes to fuel quality, motor oil, and tires. Those are the three things I will never compromise on my car. So my suggestion is: if you have the budget for the PS4S, then buy them. If you won't be driving in the wet and the car is not your daily, then get the R888R. If the PS4S is above your budget and your car is a daily, then get the NT05.

Michelin MP4S = All around great performance tire. Excellent in wet.

Toyo R88R = Track day/HPDE/Auto-X tire. Don't drive in wet conditions.

Nitto NT05/R = Some crossover with R888R'S but really a Street/Strip tire. Espescially when paired with 05R rear tires. Dont drive in wet conditions.

*A lot of people get track and drag strip confused.

If straight line speed is your goal then the 05/05R combo is the best bet...until it rains lol.

Huh? The NT05s are 200 also.

They are the only 200TW tires, as the Michelin's are ~300. None of these tires are in the same class, one is a 100TW R Compound, one a 200TW "Extreme" performance tires, and one a ~300TW "Max" performance tire.

The R compounds are the stickiest, but for straight line a drag radial would be better and they aren't very streetable. The Michilins are the best all around. The only loser in the bunch are the NT-05's, rather out of date compared to the latest tires in thier class, and even when they were released they were also ran tires in the TW200 pack.

I’m surprised you didn’t consider the Nitto NT555RII, a drag radial with decent wet traction.
