My 100k+ 2015 GT finally had an issue that wasn't cause by me (hopefully).
Everything was working fine on the way to work this morning, but there was a loud squeeling or screeching 10 minutes before I got there. I pulled over turned the car off, popped the hood and checked everything but nothing looked amiss. So I started the car while checking everything moving or rotating and couldn't find the issue before the squeeling magically stopped all by itself
The car drove normally the rest of the way to work but I noticed half way there that the ac was blowing warm air even with max ac on.
Got home and found this sticky rubber stuff on the front of the ac compressor
I think this is the cause of the issue. The ac belt still spins and looks fine with the car on.
So I need to buy an ac compressor, correct? Anyone that has done this know what steps are needed to replace it since I assume it is a charged system? I have a Paxton supercharger that is mostly in the way, would I have to replace it from underneath?
