Anyone know of a good mechanic which can pull old engine out, and Instal built motor in southern Ca, someone good with Eco boost motors, I'm in Arcadia Ca, any help with this would be greatly appreciated, motor is still good, want to avoid blown engine plus be nice to have a stronger robust engine.

all you need is tools, time, and patience and you can do it yourself. even if you bought all the tools needed it would cost you less. you aren't actually digging into the internals of the motor so it is not hard to do. Just did mine a couple weeks ago.

Your probably right, I got quote for 2500, I guess the hardest part is getting engine out, and in, have any pointers? does engine have any hoist points, or hooks, or is there some type of harness you can use ?

I have a guy that does good work for cheap on foxbodys. I can ask him if he'd try it and how much. But if u end up doing it urself and need some extra hands let me know.

If you do it yourself, make very sure you have everything disconnected before you start lifting it out. Very easy to break wiring harness and other things if you didn't see them. IMO if you aren't sure where to lift the engine from in the first place I would pay someone to do it, much better to learn on an old junker than an almost brand new car. I learned how to pull a motor on a beat $400 80's Camaro. I understand the DIY nature, just saying I wouldn't be trying it for the first time on a new $30k car.

Hi Slow89 thanks for the reply, yes please ask him, it might be a couple months before I pull the trigger on this, but I just want to find someone who knows what they are doing, I'm planning to buy it from Adam at tune+.

If I decided to do it myself, I would def do research on what is needed and how to do it, plus I would not mind finding someone who is familiar with this type of engine pull to help, I totally understand what your saying though, and appreciate your input on this.
