I’m only on my 2nd Mustang, bought my 2016 V6 in early 2020. Traded it in on my 2022 last fall. Prior to my 2016, I was primarily a GM guy for 20+ years.

My triple white conv, bought new in june of '87. Right after i got my degree and a job. Also owned a 69 fastback that i had to sell in 84 for college money, no pictures of that one, but it wasnt too pretty at the time, kind of a rust bucket, but it was hard to let go.

I’m on Mustang #4 now. In order of my ownership:

91 LX 5.0 in Opal Frost. Had around 32k original miles when I picked it up in 2008. H/C/I and sounded great.

97 Cobra bought it bone stock. Only kept it for around a year but added an x-pipe and LM1 mufflers. This car was SO loud and my 23 year old self loved it haha. My first manual. Brother drove it home and I learned that day in a parking lot.

2011 GT with a Borla catback, full suspension mods and a few tasteful aesthetics. I actually sold both the Fox and the Cobra so I could purchase this new off the lot. I was tired of the older cars and wanted the new 5.0, but hindsight being what it is I sure regret it!

Traded in the 2011 on my current 2019. The S550 is better in every aspect!

"Project Pro 5.0" that I won in a drawing from Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine, with my Torch Red '06 GT convertible in the background of the third photo.

Mine have been nothing particularly special, but I've enjoyed all of them except 1 (the 2000, more on that later, lol).

My first was a 90 GT I bought in 2000 from my (at the time) girlfriends roommate. It was my DD for a while, then I decided I was going to gut it and build a drag car. I ended up moving to New Jersey in 2 days notice, and it got pushed into her mom's garage. When I got home and bought a house, I towed it home only to sell it a week later, 8 years after I bought it. Sold it to a guy I went to school with who builds and sells mustangs. I actually saw it on craigslit a few years ago and wanted to buy it back, but covid had just hit and I was on limited hours, so I couldn't justify it.

Next was an 01 Tropic Green GT. I don't have any pictures of that car. I only owned it for maybe 6 months, at the same time I had the 90 above. It was my DD while I was working on the 90.

I went a couple of years without a mustang after that, then in 08 I bought an 04 Competition Orange GT. This was the first car I ever owned that had leather seats, lol. Still wish I had this one.
IMG_1363.JPG

Got rid of it for a truck and was again without a mustang for years. In 2016, when my divorce was finalized, I bought a 2015 GT. It was dark blue and had the near white leather seats. I still haven't seen that color combo again, and I loved it. It was tuned, had a CAI and a catback, but otherwise it was stock (except wheels and shift knob). I actually test drove a 2013 about an hour before I drove this one. Same engine, same rear gears, no comparison in any way. The 2015 won that one.
IMG_7717.JPG

Unfortunately, I only had that one for a few months before I came across a truck I wanted, so I traded it in along with my late dad's 00 F150 and bought a 2014 F150 Tremor (reg cab 3.5 ecoboost with 4.10 gears).

That was the end of my mustangs until late 2021 when I bought a "project car". It was a 2000 mustang that I knew needed some work. It needed new exhaust, new interior, and a paint job. Turns out, it needed new everything. Every time I looked at it, I ended up replacing something. Even the rear end completely locked up on me and I had to buy a junkyard rear end to rebuild because it was destroyed. I rebuilt the engine (along with new cams, all new timing stuff, oil pump, etc), had the transmission rebuilt, new clutch, rebuilt the seats, replaced everything on the engine, had the heads rebuilt, installed headers, catted x pipe, catback, complete new suspension all around, new carpet, new panels where needed on the interior, new stereo, and a new AC. I even had to replace the wiper arms and the hood hinges, lol. By the time I was done, it was running like new, and I drove it most days to work. Then it randomly started with some parasitic drain on the battery I couldn't find. That was the last straw, and I ended up selling it to my brother-in-law. He knew all of the problems, and he also knew what I had done to it. I sold it for what I paid for it, and just took a loss on the $15k or so I put into fixing it. I'm sure at some point I'll end up having to help him work on it, lol.
IMG_0554.jpg

After I sold the 00, I took some of that money along with my Ram (parked next to the 00 and next to the 16 in the pic below) and traded it in on a 2016 GT PP. It only had 16k miles on it (bought in December 2022), and it came with a lifetime powertrain warranty (only stipulation is I have to have oil changes documented at the dealership) and a 100k mile no time limit bumper to bumper warranty, excluding wear items obviously. I haven't done much to this one, and don't really plan to. I installed a Solo Mach catback, then pulled it off because it was just louder than I wanted. I ended up installing an Acceltech resonated x-pipe with the factory mufflers and it sounds perfect to my ears now. I installed a Steeda clutch spring and perch, a new shift knob, and replaced the factory sub with a Polk sub running off a kicker Key500.1 amp. Other than that, it is bone stock. I'm planning to do a full overhaul of the sound system (DSP, amp and new speakers), but that's it for the time being. I may eventually get rid of the black wheels for some chrome, silver or bronze, something like what I put on the 15 in the picture above, but no plan for any real mods. The older I get, the more I appreciate things like warranty.

I've had three Shelby's now, some Fox bodies and a '67 Dan Gurney Special Mercury Cougar. Yet my favorite is the road warrior '90 LX HO coupe I picked up 20 years ago that was completely stock. Now it is all Maximum Motorsports with 18x11's and 315's, Brembo's, all custom driveline, blah, blah. It'll be done some day. Hopefully while gas is still available. If not I'll just grab my dog and jump on the highway. :)

I'd say your only problem is getting rid of any of these 😲

At least the '69 and '70 are able to hold their position on some rather extreme grades.

I found this old picture of my 1990 Mustang GT Vert. It was my first nice car. I factory ordered this car and loved it until it was stolen. The distinguished gentleman in the other pic was my Dad who saw me bring it home (unbeknownst to him). I pulled up and he said, "convertible...OK...you have to shift yourself?...OK", and went back to gardening. RIP Dad.
