When I had my car in Germany I wished I could have set cruise at 200-225kph (~125-140mph). That was about the limit at which I could “comfortably” cruise in the unrestricted zones on the autobahn. I’ve driven my car thousands of miles well above 120mph and most of that time was just cruising down the highway. Cruise control would have been great.why in Helen Kellers underware drawer would one WANT to engage CC at 120+?!?
You were probably driving with ACC, which ends at 200 km/h (due to the range of the radar).Cruise control would have been great.
You are correct I have ACC. My car is a US spec car, and when changing the units to metric for speed it limited my cruise set speed to 180kmh for some reason. With the units set to imperial I could set it as high as 120mph. I never tried switching to normal cruise control to see if that made a difference. You were probably driving with ACC, which ends at 200 km/h (due to the range of the radar).
You can switch from ACC to normal cruise control before driving off, which should also work above 200 km/h (I haven't tried it yet).
Have you only added metric as a second value to the display or have you completely reprogrammed it?when changing the units to metric for speed it limited my cruise set speed to 180kmh for some reason. With the units set to imperial I could set it as high as 120mph.
There is a setting on the cluster to change the units so I just set it to metric for speed while I was living there. There are many parameters inside the calibration file that define max cruise control settings, I just haven’t played with them.ACC must be limited because of the radar range and the low mounting point (can't see as far as our eyes).
For the EU spec S550, ACC is limited to a maximum of 200 km/h (125 mph), I know that for sure.
Apparently other limit values are stored in the control units?
I expect the hardware to be the same.
