Reviving this thread... checking in to see if anyone can report on owning a set and if the weight savings per wheel is noticeable and if it's worth the cost. I don't track the car but would like it to feel a little more agile on the street.
So agree Not alone, however I took 192lbs out of my M1HP and you can feel the difference on the Track for sure and probably with safe spirited driving. Including moving the Battery to the trunk with the slick Watson kit. The nasty understeer is now a nice neutral drift through the corners.

I still need to lose 50lbs, hahaha and do a few more items without cutting the interior to crap.

Great looking M1. Is there a build thread on it?
No but I should start an aftermarket kit like Saleen or Kenny Brown (RIP).

Actually if I come anywhere close to winning the "Optima Battery, Search for the Ultimate Street Car" as shown on MAVTV. I'm putting a package together. hahaha

The girodisc rotors are great. And yes, the weight reduction makes a noticeable difference on track. More responsive turn-in. A bit pricy but worth it and necessary for my purposes.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but do you know the make / model of the OEM brake pads?
Also, based on your experience tracking the M1 what make/model brake pads provide best performance?

Oem is ferodo. Compound is ds2500 if memory is intact. It's a hybrid street and race pad that will withstand moderate track use.

https://pages.ferodoracing.com/products/car-racing/racing-brake-pads/ds2500/

Hold on, when the Dealer looked up replacement pads for the M1, (2) part numbers come up:

1. FR3Z-2001-N
2. MR3Z-2001-C

So, I purchased both. When they arrived #1 has (1) slot in the pad material and #2 has (2) slots in the pad material which match the OEM pads that I removed. Plus this instruction manual came inside box#2. So I say the OEM=Brembo. Why do you say Ferodo? IMO the Stock OEM pad is a great Track pad, please see friction circle photo below.

So I say the OEM=Brembo
Brembo just slaps their name on it. It's a ferodo. Now it's possible Ford changed the pads just for M1 but since the brake system is indistinguishable from the past 6 years of PP1 equipment I rather doubt that.
