Looking for some opinions on which whipple stage to go with. I have a 2014 gen 4 stage 3 and the tuning with the 132mm TB was a hassle and in hindsight I wish I had passed on the 132mm.

Have there been any improvements on the how the electronics, tune etc for the 132 on the gen 5?

Thanks for any info as this is my first s550

Any other thoughts? I am going through this same decision right now for a 2022 Mach 1.

I wouldn't go with a Whipple since these aren't really drag racing cars. They're meant to be revved out and if you want to utilize the GT350 manifold, go centrifugal. You don't have to deal with heat issues either.

Just throwing out my two cents.

My 03 M1 was Procharged. It was a blast to drive. 1-3, were useless. That being said I was running Nitto555, they are not known for the best traction.

I’ve had a Whipple gen5 stage2 (132mm TB) on a gen2 coyote for a couple of years now and almost zero complaints. OEM drivability. Massive power and its carb compliant. I’m also Cali consuming our garbage 91, you lose some power but can always go with some boostane.

the air-to-water IC system extracts a lot of heat and you can go with a dual-pass larger heat exchanger.

I have a ton of experience with a 132 tb on a whipple. Just not on a gen 5. After 4 tunes from whipple the car still stutters at idle. Has a mid rpm surge. My friend went stage 2 on his 2014. Makes more power with less issues.

Finally turned to the after market to get the car to run as advertised.

That’s a drag. I can only speak from my own experience. Hopefully you can get some input from people with stage 2 Whipples with Whipple tunes on gen3 coyotes to see how rare (or not) driveability problems are.

The Phase 2 is legal in 50 states for up to 2021, I'm sure that it will have an E.O. # for the 2022 soon,, as they are selling them in their Roush Conversions.
