Here you go the distance is set with the rear cuts to the tail pipe. Just remove the resonator & replace it with the H pipe.

loosen clamps remove resonator

This step AE valve plugs can get damaged.

Install the H pipe in the front clamps first, sung.

Then exhaust pipe to H pipe.
Use same care connecting & clamping .

Do all the res-deletes have the same lengths?
Thinking if that measurement is for a specific delete.

Steeda only says this in their manual

and yes the provided clamps do not hold the tips aligned for long

Thanks Greg! This is great info.
These measurements aren't there on the Steeda H-pipe instructions. Hopefully they are all the same. where did these instructions come from?
The install instructions, sourced from Roush. Installed the X pipe, the H & X are the same size.

Steeda is a very respectable & accurate parts resource, parts fit as they should.

Steeda has been my resource for all suspension upgrades, they sell what they race .... FYI

Roush web site, find H pipe, bottom of page, down load full instruction sheet. It also list the torque values of the clamps.

But, no mention of the AE valve got-cha, not a slam just a fact .

Cheers

Was thinking if the length of the res deletes from Steeda and Roush are not the same and if someone goes with Steeda and cuts with the measurements from Roush and ....

As long as the mufflers are supported while cutting I see no risk of damaging the parts related to the active exhaust.

I guess when I do it, I'll hold it up to were I think the front pipes would be in the front clamps and mark the cuts, then measure to see if the Roush is the same and go from there.
I would imagine these are all similar products with people stamping their name on them.

This will answer the question, H pipe end too end 32 in, the 5.5 measurement will set the clearance.

If H pipe is longer or shorter, adjust the 5.5'' +/- measruement , not difficult.

To the left, 5.5" stick out, (Mustang speak poke out ..)

32" mark is at front of the part.

This is great info. Thank you for doing this!
Steeda h-pipe says it’s 32” on website but I’ll confirm when I receive it in the next day or so. If so then 5.5” off res to cut would be same. Cool!
Steeda says it comes with these butt clamps but maybe the link you sent are better ones?
People have mentioned hooker torca header clamps but seems like 2.5” is all I’m finding.. you sure in the 2.25” for the clamps?

Looks like 2.5” over the larger (rear) end where the non OE clamps are fitted :

No, just grabbed a quick example what I thought ice445 was referring to. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words...

Measurement for the clamp is the outside of the H pipe, tail slips inside of it.

So must wait grasshopper LOL

Always one more trip to store ..

Cool, then I’m going to order the Hooker ones to match the own front clamps.
$22
Thanks for the measurements
